• A visit to cloud paradise!

  With so much to see and so little time, we had fantastic direction from our guide Ines. She put us on to the cloud forest day tour where we were picked up promptly by David(in his brand new vehicle- spotless). We were joined by a student guide- Mateo. Between the two of them we were afforded soooo much information. They shared history and culture and nature and politics. So helpful to better understand the Ecuadorian people and the passion they share for this beautiful country. We had all the choices on what to see and David and Mateo were able to guide us to see all the highlights in a day! Waterfalls, frogs, lizards and birds—- so many birds my wife loves hummingbirds and they were feeding from a small cap out of her hand. Dozens of species and so many in such a small area. We loved Mindo the town is quaint and has a real laid back vibe. We then had a chocolate experience at. The Mindo Maya was remarkable and learning about the entire process and the quality of beans- but as much the fruit and tea and chocolate processes. We absolutely loved the trip the drive was about 2 hours but with all the information, scenery and perfectly timed breaks it went wonderfully.   Andrés was the perfect tour guide with his knowledge and always courteous nature. The accommodations were very well chosen. Country and people surprised us very positively. Ecuador is a worthwhile destination.

  My friend and I were traveling to Ecuador for 6 days and thought this was a great day trip opportunity to go to the cloudy forest and mundo! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about quito, different plants and animals too. We enjoyed all activities of our tour. Started at 7:45 and got back to the city around 5:30. We got so lucky and saw toucans, so many hummingbirds landed on us, and saw tons of other species of birds. We had lovely weather and got to see a beautiful waterfall on a very doable hike.   What a wonderful tour! Such a great way to occupy the day and explore the Cloudy Forest. Ines was super knowledgeable and kind and knew so many facts about the plants and environment. The waterfall hike was super fun. Wasn’t challenging at all but there was an option for a lighter walk if you don’t want to climb. The hummingbirds were amazing and they got so close to you! We even got a chance to see a species of Toucan native to that region of ecuador. Overall, was an extremely fun day. For two girls in our twenties we didn’t feel like it was boring. Our attention was hooked the whole time and the variety of activities made it even more fun. Better that we got to turn our brains off and not worry about transport/admissions:) 10/10 would recommend.

  Loved the place. Without a doubt, it was one of the best decisions that can be made in life. The experience was amazing from start to finish. Our guide was simply exceptional; he was always attentive, resolving every doubt with patience and explaining every detail with passion.   Private tour with a fantastic guide! The waterfall, orchid walk was beautiful then off to see the hummingbirds which were amazing and the absolute highlight of our trip! Butterfly house trip before lunch at a local Mindo restaurant!

  This was a truly great day! It was one unique experience after another, starting with the fact that it was a private tour that picked us up right at our door. Our guide, Andrés, was so lovely and kind. He picked us up, and we drove about 1hr out of Quito into the Mindo Cloud Forest and stopped for a hike to a waterfall which was truly beautiful). Then we headed to another stop in the forest where we went to see wild hummingbirds, and I cannot say enough good about this part of the experience. You hold little nectar cups and the hummingbirds will land on you (and it is a fully sustainable process, they are still wild in the middle of the forest, and have access to plenty of food if the nectar stopped being provided). We saw so many different species. Then we headed to a butterfly sanctuary, where we saw many more birds and TOUCANS!! We followed that up with a traditional lunch in Mindo which was delish, and a final stop for chocolate. There was so much info, Andrés was truly a wealth of knowledge and could identify all the birds and flora. Couldn’t recommend more.
