Enjoy all that the busy bazaar streets and fresh produce markets of Chaguanas has to offer. With local fruits, provisions, meats and snacks, vendors put them all on display for purchase. Look out for the hot peppers! Also try some local East Indian snacks, like Khurma.

Dattatreya Temple and Hanuman Statue

Located in Central Trinidad and so you see a number of Hindu temples, and prayer flags in the yards of seemingly every house. See the largest (85-foot/26-meter) statue of the Hindu monkey-god, Lord Hanuman, outside of India. A tour of the site including the attached yoga center allows you to learn about interesting rituals and concepts

I really enjoyed this tour. It is focused on the Indian heritage of Trinidad, so maybe best to take as a follow-up of your overall introduction to the island. The driver/guide was very good, knowledgeable and polite. Pick up at the hotel on time. You also get an opportunity to taste excellent doubles and roti. Bring a hat and wear sunscreen.

This tour was an eye-opening experience. We were able to see so much more of Trinidad than we imagined. Don’t think we would have seen this without the tour. Our guide was super friendly, knowledgeable, and took us to fantastic spots like the Chaguanas market and the Temple of the Sea. I would recommend adding dress code to tour description, just in case someone wants to enter the temple.

Junior was great! We experienced some really bad traffic, but Junior made the best of it— reordering stops, etc. We enjoyed the tour very much!

I visited Central Market, Hanuman Temple and Sewdass Shiva Temple in the sea. I liked the way how the tour guide (Khaleel) gave the each and every detailed information about the place.

This is a great tour that allows you to get a snapshot of the cultural diversity that exists within Trinidad and Tobago. The Chaguanas Market gives you a slice of daily life with vendors selling everything from fruits and vegetables to meats and household items. Our tour guide, Junior, was excellent and gave us commentary on everything we were experiencing. Then, we went to two Hindu temples and learnt about how embedded they are within these communities. Then, we finished off the tour with some local cuisine (at our expense). I really loved this tour because it was short and sweet. The T&T sun is punishing and I had forgotten my hat, so I was glad that I didn't have to stand out in the sun for too long.

Junior was an amazing host! He has such a good personality and we thoroughly enjoyed our time with him. He was prompt, knowledgeable and fun. The tour was nice. Can't wait to go back to Trinidad again.

My daughter and I had a fantastic time with Enya, our local tour guide, exploring all around Port of Spain! From sampling the fresh fruits and sweet treats at the market, to exploring the Hindu temples, and ending the tour after enjoying a DELICIOUS meal of local foods! We learned so much about Trinidad’s rich history and incredible melding of cultures. Every aspect of this tour was enjoyable, fun, and very well done! Highly recommend this tour and you’re in for such a treat if you’re lucky enough to get Enya as your guide!

Our guide Enya was amazing and great. She knew her stuff and she did amazing job. She was a great guide and driver. I have learned so much about Trinidad. Only down side is the pottery class we did not do, we were looking forward for it.

Our tour guide Khaleel, is very knowledgeable about the Island and it’s culture. He is very accommodating and customer friendly. His driving is quite commendable as well. We toured numerous sites in and around the Island. The open market is quite interesting and personable. The air conditioning was much improved in the car. Thank you for addressing the concern.

Khaleel was an excellent guide. All the information he provided was interesting and useful and he provided an interesting introduction to some delicious local food. Also, of great importance, he is an excellent driver and I felt totally safe with him.
