Monkey River Town
- Begin this experience at the docks where there Monkey River meets the Ocean. - As we tour, pass the wooden homes owned by the locals, and be on the lookout for Howler Monkeys (of course), Giant Iguanas, toucans, manatees, crocodiles and other species that make Belize their home. - There will be light hiking and a possible river swim to cool off. - On our way, observe the locals doing traditional fishing and other daily tasks with your Belizean tour guide. - Once we complete our journey, enjoy a hearty, authentic meal from a locally owned and operated restaurant

5.00We went on this excursion that was set up through our resort. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the different species we saw and howler monkeys. Make sure you bug spray up!!! Also, putting on some coconut oil before your bug spray will help. You will be walking through the jungle.

2.00It was very disorganized from the start. No direction was provided on where to go what we would be doing and were discouraged from using the bathroom because they were running late. The tour guide was not personable doing the bare minimum of pointing out animals, of which we only saw some herons, manatee and crocodile. We did hear howler monkeys at least. The food was very good but again no organization or direction was proved by the guide. The shopping part was okay and admittedly I’m not a shopper on vacation but understand others on the tour enjoy this, but they were not kept to the allotted time and we returned to the resort much later than scheduled. For people looking for an interactive wildlife adventure, I do not recommend this tour. It’s better suited for very young children or elderly adults.

5.00Hands down one of the best tours we have ever been on!! Our guide was a local and knew all of the best spots to see animals. When he reached his hand into a hole and pulled out a HUGE ground crap I knew right then we were on a tour like we’ve never been on before! We saw iguanas, manatees-a mama and baby, monkeys-lots of monkeys! Interesting birds, had a great lunch and got a few souvenirs. Excellent tour by Jeremy and we will remember it forever!

5.00A great time to see lots of islands, beaches and wildlife. Great local knowledge of the evolution of the jungles - the monkeys and the Manatees - and all the local islands - there are hundreds of islands!!

5.00Great trip. Yeah. Terry grew up in Monkey River and knows exactly where to spot the animals. We have seen them all with respect for nature! Book this tour!
Great tour, fun boat ride, delicious lunch in Monkey River Village, saw some cool native animals, & howler monkeys.

4.00We had the real rainforest experience as it poured rain on us for the majority of the day. We were still able to see a few howler monkeys as crocodiles and manatees. All in all a good day and lunch at the Monkey River Village was very good.

5.00Wow, such an amazing trip! We had an absolute blast!! We got to see manatees, iguanas, alligators, birds, howler monkeys, and even land crabs! Make sure you take the time to enjoy the village after and shop some of their hand made goods.
