5.00Our guide to explained to us that our cruise port visit happened to fall on a Sunday, which means many of the regular stops are closed. We asked her to do what she could to show us local cuisine, typical of what she’d have on the regular tour. She was able to find us representative Urugyan food and shared some stories of being native to Montevideo. We appreciated Perla’s hospitality!

2.00Our guide was switched out just a few days prior to the excursion, we were on a cruise and didn't see this until we were in Uruguay. We have a lovely tour guide... BUT we didn't get a food tour - but a history tour. We asked several times about when we'd eat, and eventually were given a sandwich to split. I notified the tour operator after the fact and first they said they'd respond, after they didn't for a couple of weeks I reached back out to be told they have to profit margin on this booking and hoped I understood. I'd look elsewhere.
