The 4x4 Extended backcountry tour offers all Highlight stops and additional stops that are not covered in the regular backcountry tour. Spend more time with your Navajo guide and indulge in an experience that uncovers the secrets, myths, and legends of the Navajo Culture. Navigate through 28 miles of Monument Valley's Finest spectacles where movies, commercials, and performances were made. Enjoy the luxury of exploring areas that are off-limits to normal travelers; and listen and watch your guide bring the monuments to life through its history, story telling, and live performances. Enjoy a visit to a local Navajo Hogan and watch a demonstration of the art of Navajo Rug Weaving. Behind the breathtaking Mesas, Buttes, Spires, and Arches there are hidden stories waiting to be told.
The Tribal Park Admission Fee is not included. ($8 per person)

5.00We had Larry as our guide. He was outstanding. Strongly recommend taking a tour. You just can't really see this place on the public drive, and I hate tours. Loved this one. Go early in the morning, as it is more peaceful.

5.00Fantastic tour and Travis was absolutely outstanding. Ask for him if you book a tour. His Dad met up with us as well and gave a fabulous talk on the history or the Navajo (Di neh) people. Recommend highly!

5.00Larry was our guide and he was so great! We loved this tour. It's a great way to up close to all of the amazing formations and views if you don't have a 4x4 vehicle. We loved learning so much about the the history and culture of the area from Larry.
A Truly Awesome Experience with our Guide, Travis!

5.00Travis was our Guide and we were so happy that he was! He did an excellent job of driving us off-road to so many amazing places. Travis gave us information on what we were seeing, and we especially loved that he shared information on his Diné culture. He is a fine musician and shared his talent with us in a special way by giving us all a beautiful blessing then playing songs on a double flute and then a drum that echoed through the buttes. He even played us a song on his guitar. Travis took us to wonderful areas where we were able to take photos of this awesome and inspiring Navajo Tribal Park. It was certainly a bumpy ride off-road but completely worth it to experience such a beautiful and spiritual place! We appreciate that the Navajo people share this magical place with all of us!

5.00Our guide, Andrea, provided us with a phenomenal experience, exceeding all expectations! In addition to ensuring we saw all the significant Monuments, she shared a wealth of information on the people and culture of the Navajo tribe even performing a traditional Navajo blessing chant. The icing on the cake for those of us interested in photography was her guiding us to the positions for capturing the best images of the amazing structures. Would have given her 20 stars instead of 5! If possible be sure to ask for her.

5.00We were very please to have taken yhis tour , it was worth the cost and we were very exited about our experience. It is a MUST to take time and see the back country and learn about the Navajo tribe. Our tour guide was Sandrea and she is fantastic from Tribal guide tour. She is also a very good singner and story teller !!! Thanks again for the marvallous day at Monument Valley.
