The first must-see stop: a gourmet break in the city of Behenjy, renowned for its delicious foie gras production, where you will have the opportunity to taste this local specialty. We then continue to Ambatolampy, a hotspot for Malagasy crafts, where you can discover the traditional workshops for making aluminium utensils, testimonies of ancestral know-how. Several stops are planned to visit these typical villages and exchange with local craftsmen. At the end of the afternoon, we take the road to Antsirabe, nicknamed the "capital of the water city" because of its thermal springs and peaceful atmosphere. Set up at the Inn for a well-deserved night’s rest.

Lac Tritriva

Day dedicated to discovering the surroundings and the artisans that make Antsirabe famous. Aboard a rickshaw, the city’s iconic means of transport, meet the locals and immerse yourself in the lively atmosphere of the colourful alleyways. A stop at the Asabotsy Point of Sale, one of Madagascar’s largest and liveliest, will allow you to explore stalls full of local products, crafts and spices with mesmerizing scents. The route continues to Independence Square, where there is a monument offering breathtaking views of the Inn of Thermal Baths and the old train station, witnesses of the city’s colonial past. For nature lovers and hikers, an excursion around Lake Tritriva is offered. This deep blue volcanic lake, surrounded by wooded cliffs, is full of legends and offers a spectacular setting for a rejuvenating ride. Back to the city and overnight at the Inn.

Ranomafana National Park

Early morning Check-out for an in-depth exploration of Ranomafana National Park, a true ecological treasure ranked among the richest in Madagascar. Nestled in the heart of a rainforest, this natural sanctuary is home to exceptional biodiversity, home to rare endemic species. Accompanied by an experienced Guide, we set out on the trails to discover lemurs, emblems of Malagasy fauna, as well as multicolored frogs, chameleons and other living treasures hidden under the thick canopy. After this immersion in nature, we take the road to Fianarantsoa, the cultural capital of the country Betsileo. The afternoon is devoted to exploring the old town, a true witness to the colonial past, with its cobblestone streets, traditional houses with carved balconies and iconic religious buildings. From the heights of the city, we will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the surroundings, offering a unique perspective on this region steeped in history. At the end of the day, stay in a comfortable Inn for a relaxing night.

Fianarantsoa

First day of total immersion in the Betsileo countryside, east of Fianarantsoa, for an authentic experience surrounded by nature. We start our adventure with a hike through rural landscapes, between rice fields, green hills and small traditional villages. The walk leads us to the Matsiatra River, where a peaceful canoe descent offers us a unique perspective on the region and its enchanting panoramas.

Day 2: The evening is marked by exchange and discovery. We meet the village dean, guardian of ancestral traditions and stories. Then, immersion in the daily life of the inhabitants: participation in the rodeo of zebus, introduction to basketry techniques, learning the drumstick of rice and traditional gestures to draw water. The day ends with a unique culinary experience by preparing a Malagasy dinner with the villagers, a moment of authentic sharing under the stars.

Ambalavao

Still in the heart of Betsileo country, we continue our journey south towards Ambalavao, a city renowned for its Zebus Point of Sale, one of the most impressive in Madagascar, where breeders and buyers gather in a lively and authentic atmosphere. Ambalavao is also known for its vineyard, a rarity in the country, where you can taste local wines with unique flavors.

Anja Reserve

The adventure continues to Anja Park, a community reserve nestled at the foot of impressive rock formations. A walk of about an hour allows us to observe up close the famous Catta lemurs, emblematic with their striped tails, evolving completely freely in their natural habitat. The park is also full of varied flora and fauna, with lush vegetation contrasting with the surrounding mineral landscapes.

Vallee de Tsaranoro

Day of exploration in the beautiful Tsaranoro Valley, dominated by an imposing granite cliff and spectacular scenery. For early risers, the sunrise offers an unforgettable spectacle with its play of light on the rock. The day continues with an immersive walk through the valley and its traditional villages, allowing you to meet the locals and discover their way of life. Two itineraries are possible: the ascent of the summit of the Chameleon for a panoramic view or a walk through the sacred forest to a perched village.

Ranohira

Quiet morning with breakfast on site before heading back to Ranohira to explore the Isalo Park. Along the way, pass through Ihosy, capital of the Bara people, then cross the vast plateau of the Horombe, an arid expanse with spectacular landscapes.

Isalo National Park

The afternoon is punctuated by the passage of small traditional villages along the road, offering a glimpse of the daily lives of the inhabitants. Approaching Ranohira, the first rock formations of Isalo Park appear on the horizon. At the end of the day, you can admire an unforgettable sunset on the plateau of the Horombe or at the famous Window of the Isalo, a spectacular natural setting after the park.

Isalo National Park

Early morning Check-out for an approach transfer to the foot of the Parc de l’Isalo, before embarking on a day of exploration through its spectacular landscapes. The hike begins with a walk to the Natural Pool, an oasis nestled in the heart of the rock formations, where a refreshing swim is possible before continuing the adventure. The crossing of the park reveals exceptional panoramas, alternating reliefs sculpted by erosion and green valleys. Along the way, our Guide shares explanations of local traditions and customs, as well as the endemic flora and fauna that make the site rich.

Sakaraha

Early Check-out towards Tulear, the capital of the South, with several rewarding stops along the way. The road crosses the Bara villages, offering an immersion in the traditions of this ethnic group of zebus breeders. Along the way, discover a sacred baobab tree, a majestic symbol of the region and a bearer of local beliefs. About an hour after Sakaraha, we stop at the village of Andoharotsy for an hour-long walk, allowing us to talk with the locals and meet the zebus farmers. A special moment is planned with the village dean, who will share the ancestral customs and stories of his people. After this cultural immersion, exploration of the surroundings and picnic on site to fully enjoy this authentic setting.

Anakao

After the adventure through the southern lands, place to relax by the sea in one of the coastal paradises of the region: Ifaty, Tsifota or Anakao. These fishing villages offer sandy beaches, a turquoise sea and a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for resting after the trip.

These free days are an invitation to relaxation, but also to marine exploration. Depending on your desires, you can enjoy the lagoon for a refreshing swim, go on a canoe trip with Vezo fishermen or discover the seabed through a snorkeling or diving session. Those who prefer to stay on land can visit the baobab forest and observe the local wildlife.
