• Coral and Fish Not Too Spectacular

  Feb. 2026...a good start to this tour, as we had only 18 people on a boat that could take 50+ people. They boast about this being the 3rd largest reef system in the world. That may be true, but it didn't make it any more spectacular than other places I've snorkelled. I'm VERY experienced at snorkelling, done it at least 100 times, I've done lots of underwater photography, done the Great Barrier Reef, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, St. Lucia, fresh water, salt water, etc. They took us to the outer edge of the barrier reef. So we had to swim toward the reef, with the current pushing us in that direction. The coral wasn't that great. There was nothing like staghorn coral, no brain coral, and not much that had any colour to it. When I finally got max distance from the boat, the coral colour improved, but I was also in a zone where I had to be very careful that a large swell didn't carry me too close and I'd get caught in the breakers that were bashing over the reef! We were in the water for about 45 minutes. In that time, I saw maybe a dozen varieties of fish. Nothing larger than a parrotfish. The only WOW moment over the reef was when I came upon a decent school of Blue Tang, and got some good video of that. The water around Turks & Caicos is really clear, so that was nice. Okay...back to the boat. Just as I was about to board the boat, the crew spotted a dolphin right nearby, so I stuck my head back in the water. And...easily the hilite of the day...there was the dolphin about 5-6 feet in front of me! She's known to all the locals. They've named her JoJo, and she often comes to visit the snorkelling boats where we were. So that was indeed a big thrill. I've had stingrays right in my arms, but never a dolphin that close. The crew were very good, the food and drink were also good. Our next stop at Iguana Island (Little Water Cay) also yielded an encounter with an iguana, which was cool. At our 3rd stop on the opposite shore from Half Moon Bay, we saw lots of turtles dashing away underwater, so they were just barely visible for a second or two. And we also spotted a lemon shark, again just for a few seconds. And, at both beach locations, I got nailed with several bites from no-see-ums...extremely itchy for 2 days. I've seen far more colourful and a much larger variety of fish in many other places. And I've seen coral that would put this to shame. That's why my 3-star rating. The dolphin was a massive bonus, but overall the outing didn't live up to my snorkelling expectations. Kudos to the crew. They can't control the fish or the coral, and they did a good job with all the passengers.

  Vardo was our captain and Fiyo was the first man and they were both excellent. I went with my mom, husband, 5 year old and 6 year old. Both my kids are beginner swimmers. The water was choppy but the experience was incredible and the entire family had a great time. The experience was so special. I highly recommend.   One of the best tours I’ve ever done (and I have done them all over the world). Best snorkeling ever where you will see sea turtles & beautiful fish & coral reefs. Going to iguana island was icing on the cake as we saw many iguanas. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS TOUR!!

  Absolutely brilliant trip. The crew were fantastic and made a real effort to give everyone value for money and a wonderful time. A definite must trip to book.

• Snorkeling and Iguanas

  This was a fun activity with a great crew. Would book again. The crew showed us around Iguana Island and took us over the reef, Dove for a conch shell, even recovered one of our group member's lost jewelry from the ocean.

  Perfect day out on the water!! The boat was clean and the crew was great!! Bathroom on board and pick up at Beaches Resorts was a huge plus. I highly recommend!!

  We had an AMAZING tour with Carlos and his wonderful crew. All four crew members were so engaging and friendly, and so good with our kids. Camil was especially great with our three year old son and one year old daughter, who were at times apprehensive out on the water. He made them feel at ease and they had the best time! The crew were so fun, kind, and accommodating the entire trip. I would absolutely recommend this trip, and especially if you are going with children.

  The 1/2 day tour was great! The crew of the “Big Boy” boat were really accommodating. Captains, Carlos and BaBa took very good care of the guests.

  Bring a towel, sunscreen and be ready for a fun cruise with great hosts. Snorkling is a blast getting to seei all kinds of colorful fish and coral. The rum punch just adds to the enjoyment. Highly recommend.
