Set against the brilliant blue of the Caribbean sea and sky, our Visitor Experience invites guests from around the world to discover the secrets behind Barbados' finest spirit. Greeted in our lush green garden, visitors will explore the history, heritage and craft of Mount Gay Rum while enjoying a rum tasting to complete the experience.

Mount Gay Visitor Experience
Tour times - 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, last tour 2:30. On the Signature Rum Tasting you will learn about the rich history of Mount Gay Rum after meeting your Brand Host, the tour will kick off with complimentary welcome Rum Punch. While you enjoy your cocktail your host will take you on a journey through the Legacy Museum which offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the illustrious history of Mount Gay Rum and the island of Barbados. From there, you will view a short film which gives an explanation of the process of how Mount Gay rums are produced. Next, you will be taken to the Tasting Room where you will enjoy an experience of flavour of 3 Mount Gay rums. Your host will walk you through the tasting explaining the differences between each rum that you taste. To complete the tasting, you will then be taken to the Signature Bar for a chance to indulge in some wonderfully crafted cocktails with the very knowledgeable mixologists. After the tasting, make sure to visit the gift shop to purchase some bottles or souvenirs for yourself. Some of the rums can only be purchased on the island! You can also enjoy finger foods or lunch for purchase at the Live Grill.

5.00Our host was Tina, she was very enthusiastic and funny. Engaged with the clients, asked/answered questions. I kept shuddering on the tasting of different stages but I did enjoy the 40yr old rum. I highly recommend you give it ago.
The highlight included the guided tasting of four premium rums, where we learned to appreciate the complex notes

5.00This five-star experience is a masterclass in Bajan hospitality, offering seamless door-to-door service from hotel pickup to drop-off. The Journey experience at the distillery in St. Lucy begins with a warm welcome featuring their signature Rum Punch. Our guide , Damion was exceptional, blending history with humor as he led us through the distillery . The highlight included the guided tasting of four premium rums, where we learned to appreciate the complex notes of the famous XO. With professional transport taking the stress out of the commute, it is an absolute must-do for anyone visiting Barbados.

5.00A very informative tour of the distillery preceded the rum tasting session. Damian our guide was fantastic and happy to answer all and questions during our tour. The tasting session was enjoyed by all 12 on our tour and I would recommend this tour to anyone who visits the island.

5.00Great tour some of these kind of tours can be boring but the tour guide (sorry forgot his name) made it really fun and interesting. Probably the best brewery/distillery kind of tour I've done. Only 10 people on the tour. Rum punch when it started (kids had a non alcoholic one) and then later on 4 different rums. Good job we had a beach day planned afterwards else we would've stayed in the bar afterwards.
A must do when visiting Barbados!

5.00Such a fun experience as soon as you arrive! The bar staff were welcoming and did amazing, well priced cocktails. The tour guide was so fun and informative making the experience unforgettable. Started the tour with a rum punch, then learnt about the history of Mount Gay which led to tasting four rums. For just an hour out of your day, it’s a great excursion to do when in Barbados.

5.00Our tour guide was delightful. She told the story of Mount Gay, rum and the island in an entertaining and engaging way. She instructed us in how to taste the rums in a way that brought the beverages to life. In only a short time my palate was refined.
