Set against the brilliant blue of the Caribbean sea and sky, our Visitor Experience invites guests from around the world to discover the secrets behind Barbados' finest spirit. Greeted in our lush green garden, visitors will explore the history, heritage and craft of Mount Gay Rum while enjoying a rum tasting to complete the experience.

Mount Gay Visitor Experience
Tour times - 9:30, 10:30, 11:30, 12:30, 1:30, last tour 2:30. On the Signature Rum Tasting you will learn about the rich history of Mount Gay Rum after meeting your Brand Host, the tour will kick off with complimentary welcome Rum Punch. While you enjoy your cocktail your host will take you on a journey through the Legacy Museum which offers visitors a fascinating glimpse into the illustrious history of Mount Gay Rum and the island of Barbados. From there, you will view a short film which gives an explanation of the process of how Mount Gay rums are produced. Next, you will be taken to the Tasting Room where you will enjoy an experience of flavour of 3 Mount Gay rums. Your host will walk you through the tasting explaining the differences between each rum that you taste. To complete the tasting, you will then be taken to the Signature Bar for a chance to indulge in some wonderfully crafted cocktails with the very knowledgeable mixologists. After the tasting, make sure to visit the gift shop to purchase some bottles or souvenirs for yourself. Some of the rums can only be purchased on the island! You can also enjoy finger foods or lunch for purchase at the Live Grill.

5.00We toured the distillery and it was very good. The only issue was at the end of our tour our tour guide, Damien, insisted that we not use pickup Barbados to get back to the nearest bus station and use his contact, Steve, who would pick us up. We were 3 couples and Steve charged us triple the usual taxi rate for a 15 minute drive amounting to $120 BBD for a very short ride. A disappointing end to an otherwise good tour.

5.00This was a nice overview of mount Gay rum. You got a drink when you arrived and then four rum tastings and there is a nice bar area to have a drink after the tour.
Fully recommend even if not big into rum

5.00We fully enjoyed the tasting experience. I’m not a big rum drinker but I enjoy a rum punch which we exactly how we started our tour. Ekeel was so much fun, giving us the history of Mount gay, and keeping it fun and lively. He truely helped make the rum tasting even more fun. As I’m not into rum I wasn’t sure I’d enjoy the taste and was pleasantly surprised. I would fully recommend. The rum does go to your head so would recommend eating first. And if you do the tour near Bridgetown, it’s not accessible by the bus, you’ll need a taxi

5.00I did the Mt. Gay Distillery Tour and rum tasting in February and it was an incredible day spent immersed in the history and craft of their rums. The tour was led by Tina and she was an absolute treat and filled with knowledge about the rums, the distillery, and the history. The grounds of the distillery are lovely and the entire visit was a highlight of my time in Barbados.
Nice experience. Very well explained the history of the Gay distillery.

5.00It was very well run nice tour. The fee is perfect for what you get out of it. We were there a little longer then the 2 hours.gave you time to tour the area and enough time to taste the rum.

5.00This experience gives you a brief history of Barbados as well as detailed information specific to the creation of rum and the Mount Gay Distillery. Our guide, Marcia, was amazing! Would definitely recommend!!

5.00This Catamaran was on point! The staff and energy was awesome! Lunch top tier 👌🏼. We were able to snorkle and see 2 shipwrecks which was really cool! You will not go wrong booking this tour.
