If you are not quite sure whether you are ready for a full Kilimanjaro adventure, you might want to take one of our shorter Kilimanjaro trips via Marangu route. Only one day on the mountain will be enough to give you a full picture of what it takes to be part of a Kilimanjaro trekking expedition.

This adventure is perfect if you travel with children who are not ready for the full hike yet, or if your holiday is too short but you still want to enjoy the trip.

A one-day Kilimanjaro trip leads you up to Mandara Hut and back to the entry gate.

Kilimanjaro National Park

Our guides will arrive at the hotel in the morning to meet you and hold a quick briefing, after which you will be transferred to Kilimanjaro National Park's eastern entrance: Marangu Gate (1,860 m/6,046 f)). After the quick formality of registering the climbing permits and registering with the rescue service, the group will start trekking up to Mandara Hut (2,700 m/8,858 ft ). The trekking route includes a passage through the rainforest where tropical showers are highly probable, so we recommend taking raincoats. When you reach the camp, you will be provided with lunch-boxes. After lunch you can take a hike to the beautiful Maundi Crater nearby. It will take about 30 minutes, after which you will start your descent down to the exit of the park - Marangu gate. There our driver will pick you up and drive you to your hotel in the town of Moshi.

The tour was fantastic. Thel park is beautiful and we had such a great guide. He was so friendly and answered all our questions. And the cook was brilliant. The food was so incredibly good! On top of all that, sleeping in tents between you was just unique! I would recommend it to anyone!

Marangu Gate to Mandara Hut:- ▪️Route: Marangu Gate (1,870m) to Mandara Hut (2,720m). ▪️Distance: Approx. 8km ▪️Duration: 4-5 hours ▪️Accommodation: Mandara Hut Dress code: Base Layer: Basic Breathable shirt and hiking pants. Foot wear: walking shoes / sketchers / sports shoes. The trail was not intimidating and it didn’t require much energy. Moving at sustainable pace, we made it to Mandara Hut in under 4 hours 😀

Wonderful day with our guide Emmanuel! The excursion was well organised and communication was excellent. The hike was a great challenge for my son and I, and we were pleased to reach Mandara Huts! The forest is incredible! Highly recommend.

I had an amazing experience with Kanje grand tours! Everything was organized in a proper manner - pick up, tour, return to hotel. Good communications & fast response on questions via whatsapp and call. Great experience to see the Kilimanjaro stunning views and some animals like black and white colobus monkeys Very reliable service / provider, absolutely worth the money.

These guys did a great job organizing everything and were extremely knowledgeable. You will be amazed how keen their eye sight is whilst we are touring the Kilimanjaro expedition. The guide knows the mountain like the back of his hand Full marks and kudos to the team.
