Glacier Country Helicopters is a local, family owned and operated company based in Franz Josef, on the West Coast of New Zealand. Husband and wife team Gus and Poppy started the company in January 2014 and you'll generally find one of them out flying most days.
On our Mt Cook Supreme flight you'll fly over the Franz Josef, Fox, Tasman Glaciers and fly into the Southern Alps to see Mount Cook and enjoy two included 10 minute landings - the first a snow landing for photos and the second on the Shackleton Glacier. Total experience time approx. 60 minutes.
Please allow an extra 45minutes on top of your flight time to allow for checking in, transport to helicopter, loading, unloading and to return to our office.

Please let us know if you have limited mobility e.g. injury, arthritis or recent surgery? There are two high ladder style steps into the helicopter. This information could effect what helicopter we fly you in.
Our helicopter seats are 40cm wide. If you would like extra space or are wider than this we highly recommend booking a comfort seat which guarantees an empty seat next to you.

Not what I booked but still great!

5.0I didn’t actually get to do this because of the weather conditions- they couldn’t land or get to Mount Cook. However, the two glacier fly over was still great and the staff and the pilots commentary were fab.

5.0The weather wasn't looking good but the staff contacted us early to give us the best opportunity to still fly. Even with rescheduled flight time we were unable to land and had less time in the air due to the weather. Without asking we were given a partial refund to an equivalent type of booking. All the staff we're super friendly and helpful.

5.0The guides were great. They run a great tour with beautiful views of multiple glaciers and mountain peaks. The two snow landings were the icing on the cake. Strongly recommend.
