Pilatus Luzern
Take bus no. 1 (direction Kriens/Obernau) from Lucerne’s train station. After an 11-min. bus ride to the station "Kriens, Zentrum Pilatus" and a short walk, you reach the valley station in Kriens. The Panorama Gondolas take you to the middle station Fräkmüntegg in 30 min. where you can try the rope park or the Dragon Glider (own expenses). Change to the aerial cableway "Dragon Ride" to the top (5 min.). From Pilatus Kulm, enjoy the panoramic views over Lake Lucerne and the Swiss Alps and either stay inside the panoramic gallery, relax on the terrace, climb one of the peaks or enjoy a local specialty in our restaurants (own expenses). The world's steepest cogwheel railway brings you back down to Alpnachstad in 35 min. Next to the valley station you board the boat cruise on Lake Lucerne. After 1-1.5 hours you arrive in Lucerne, near the train station. The trip can also be done in the opposite direction, starting by boat from Lucerne. In any case check the timetable before your visit.

It is helpful to also use google maps. Schedule more time than you think you need to have a relaxed trip.

Was a self guided tour. Directions and instructions were pretty straight and clear. A very nice experience.

This is a great experience, but requires some attention to the bus connections at the beginning and then boat connections at the end. Would’ve liked a little more explicit directions about which bus to catch to reach Kriens to catch the first aerial cable way. Instead to be sure we used Google Earth to figure out it was bus number one to Kreins. All the otherconnections worked well and were pretty self evident how to do things once we got going. Experience was a pleasure and the views were beautiful.

Too bad the weather wasn't nice. The panorama in complete fog and rain spoiled the adventure a little. But when it came out a little, it was beautiful! We even had the chance DE see a Mommy ibex and her two little ones.

That the ticket you buy here does not include a separate fee and a process for making a reservation on the vericular. The site to make the reservation was not that user friendly and failed despite getting a receipt of payment. I had to go to the ticket office the morning of the experience and luckily there was a reservation for the vernicular that matched the time we were getting off the boat. I thought this was the ticket for the entire “golden ticket”experience and it wasn’t. Could have been a very messy experience if I was stranded on the bottom of the mountain with no reservation to get up
