This tour is unique in that you will be on guided shorter hikes in Mt. Rainier National Park. From November to June snowshoes/crampons will be provided when necessary since there is often snow on the trails in those months.
We hike a few miles throughout the day and you will experience diverse landscapes and scenery such as glaciers, mountains, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, and tall trees in old-growth forest which are all the highlights in Mount Rainier National Park.
(In the winter areas of the park may be closed some days and not all highlights will be accessible at times).

Mount Rainier
We drive to Mt. Rainier National Park (2 hours) and hike from the visitor center at Paradise for about a mile where we picnic close to some giant glaciers. We then hike back for a mile and drive to viewpoints with panoramic views and we see the Narada Falls and the Christine Falls, old growth forests with a thousand year old big trees and the Reflection Lakes. In Winter and Spring seasons (November-June) we will snowshoe rather than hiking - no experience required.

Fantastic day! Get ready for a nice workout! Our guide Susan knew there would be large crowds, so she took us first to the Paradise area before the parking lot was full. We hiked the Skyline trail up to a beautiful picnic spot (we had stopped at a grocery store on the way). The first 1/2 mile gets your heart rate going! Susan kindly waited for anyone who needed more time while allowing others to hike ahead to the next meeting area. After lunch we had the option to hike further up to Glacier Vista where yes there’s snow even in mid-July! The views were incredible! After the hike, we stopped at other viewing areas and saw Narada Falls and another waterfall. We finished with a short hike the tall Douglas Fir trees. I highly recommend this tour for anyone who wants to experience the highlights of Mt Rainier in one day!

Susan was a wonderful guide and made us all feel at ease and was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough. She made our experience meaningful and fun. I would add since it is not super obvious is that after Mt Rainier, which is a moderate and not for the faint of heart, type of hike, there are about 4-5 more stops, which is important to mention as one might be quite exhausted after Mt Rainier. The stops were brief and lovely, and one has the option to stay in the van, but important to note if one thinks they will head back to Seattle right after the hike. Nevertheless, the overall day was lovely.

Our guide was great and the park is spectacular. The drive between Seattle and Mt. Rainier is closer to 3 hours than 2, and the first hike to see the glacier can be challenging. Though mostly paved, it is a steep uphill and then back downhill, with a 900 foot elevation. Breathing can be tough if you have asthma. The view is breathtaking. The other stops are beautiful and the little hike through the forest is terrific too. Bottom line, expect a full day for this excursion — don’t make firm dinner plans — and enjoy the awe-inspiring landscape.

Pick up was easy and the trip was awesome. Even with the foggy weather we got to see a bunch of cool stuff.

What an amazing day on Mt. Rainier! Our guide, Susan, took us on a comprehensive all-day hike. We had a picnic near the top of one of the hiking trails. We ventured to various waterfall locations. We even completed a forest loop where we saw Douglas Firs that are over 1,000 years old. She provided us with ample bathroom stops and opportunities for fuel ups. I highly recommend this tour and this guide!!
