Uplistsikhe caves - translated as the “Fortress of the Lord“. The history of Uplistsikhe goes back to the 2nd-1st millennium B.C. In antiquity, the city was one of the most important centers of Kartli and in the middle Ages. It stood on an important trade route that linked Byzantium with India and China.
Joseph Stalin’s Museum - The museum exhibits re-create surreal and revealing scenes from the life of the dictator and include unique photos, gifts and furniture. The house where Stalin was born is preserved under a stone canopy nearby.
SVETITSKHOVELI Cathedral 11th c-UNESCO site is one of the most sacred places in whole Georgia, with the Christ’s robe preserved in the Cathedral.
JVARI monastery 6th c - UNESCO site is the culmination of a number of artistic and architectural aspirations of an early Georgian Christian architecture.

Uplistsiche Cave Town
Uplistikhe is a rock-hewn city, located just 10 km east of Gori, on the left bank of the river Mtkvari. One of the oldest settlements in the Caucasus region, Uplistikhe is first mentioned within the pages of history in the VII century. Uplistiskhe and its surrounding archeological and architectural monuments belong to a distinct group, the oldest of which dates back to the early Bronze Age, and are considered to be relics of the Kura-Araxes culture.
Stalin Museum
Soviet leader Joseph Stalin’s Museum was founded in 1937 and contains 60,000 exhibits. The museum includes the memorial house where Stalin is believed to have been born, an exhibition building, and Stalin’s personal train car, in which he traveled to Tehran, Yalta and Potsdam. The museum also houses Stalin’s personal belongings.

3.00The trip was ok but did not understand well what the tour guide is saying, not an engaging trip. Our lunch was quite late. The places we visited was interesting.

5.00Very interesting tour. Our guide David let us all the time we needed, so it was very relaxed in spite of the full program. On top of the tour he organized a very nice wine-tasting for us. We enjoyed the day very much - and learned a lot about Georgia.

5.00You definitely should chose this tour if you’re interested in culture and history of this country. I literally could feel the soul of Georgia deep in the caves as much as in the calm atmosphere of monastery, which architecture I, by the way, liked very much.
