The 80 miles of the Columbia River Gorge’s steep rocky sides offer some of the most spectacular scenery in the world: pounding waterfalls, eagles, century-old trees, ferns, flowers, ancient rocks. This half-day of exploring and meditating on wonders with very short hikes and visits to overlooks and vistas will have you gasping in awe.
We'll visit waterfalls and overlooks, selected by our guides to include both the most iconic, like the unmissable Latourell Falls, a stunning plunge-style falls that is one of the most iconic in Oregon, and the special. Depending on weather conditions, this could include a few small hidden waterfalls and another spectacular plunge-style falls with columnar basalt. We operate rain or shine!
We'll also tell you stories, not just of the geology and botany and the oft-repeated tales of pioneers and road-builders, but also the old stories we've learned, of gods and animal spirits and the Beaver princess tragically turned into a waterfall.

Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area
After meeting you at the starting point, 833 SE Main Street #124, we'll head out in one of our comfortable vans. The tour all takes place in the Columbia River Gorge, in the waterfall-laden western end of an 80-mile (130-km) canyon; we will drive about 35 minutes from our shop into the Gorge to start the tour.
Multnomah Falls
Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the state and one of the most impressive, and most photographed, waterfalls in the U.S. If you're chasing waterfalls: this is the one many are seeking to catch. Our time here will include enough to go up to the iconic Benson Bridge and visit the gift shop; the hike to the top of the waterfall is long and steep, we will not include that in this tour.
Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes: Our winter afternoon times are a little shorter given the early sunset

Amber was amazing at telling us the history of Portland. She shared fascinating facts about the area like how landmarks got their names (and much more history that was definitely worth a deep dive after the tour). She knew where to take all the best pictures at each site, and was overall charming and fun! Our tour consisted of 4 solo travelers (myself included) and a medium sized family. Everyone was so friendly and it was fun hearing where people were from and what brought them to Portland. As a solo traveler I felt very included! We had plenty of time to walk, climb, hike, view, touch, feel, photograph and take everything in at each site! I highly recommend. Just do it!

We did a four-hour tour, and it was great. Initially, we considered renting a car, but I am glad we did this tour. We were pretty relaxed and didn’t have to worry about driving, parking, or gas. Our guide, Aaron, was excellent, sharing many stories about the city, the falls, and the sites we visited. We were happy with the areas we covered—granted, we could only do short hikes (5-20 min).

This was an amazing experience, Ana our guide was quite knowledgeable about the history of Portland and the nature surrounding the waterfalls. There is a little hiking in and down where the falls are but most of the distance is in the van, which makes it ideal to cover a lot of waterfalls. I would highly recommend this trip!
