Dorian Deathly has been leading ghost tours in York at night for 10 years and has a lot of interesting tales to share, but sometimes he likes to come out during the daylight hours and enjoy a tour with a difference!

York can be a noisy old place in the daytime, particularly at peak times so it can be difficult to be fully immersed in the terrible tales!

We use a tour guide system with high quality over the ear headphones and a professional microphone system to ensure incredible clarity. You will be absolutely captivated by the stories, yet free to move around and explore the spaces as you like.

The tour will cover a collection of some of the fouler fiends from York's darker past, blood spilled on these old stones that we tread upon. The tale of Death By Pancake! Questionable Victorian medical practices... History has never been so disgraceful.

What a fantastic way to see York! Deathly Dark Tours have a talent for showing you a side of the city you would not otherwise see while also delivering stories and history in a fun and engaging way. We were a family of 4 with ages from 45 to 11 years and we all had a great time! Even though it rained for at least 20 minutes straight this didn’t stop us and they even arranged for umbrellas to be delivered! I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting York, if you take one guided tour make it a Deathly Dark tours one, you won’t be disappointed!

Really enjoyed the Murder and Mayhem tour. We found the guide, Dorian, to be very entertaining and knowledgeable, with a wicked sense of humour. Well worth the ticket fee, with the length of time and information. Would highly recommend. (My friend was most disgruntled he wouldn't disclose where to buy Bile Beans 🤣)

After thoroughly enjoying another tour with Dorian Deathly we returned the next day for the Murder and Mayhem tour. Dorian came well equipped with headphones which helped us hear a lot better and navigate through some of the busier places. It was accompanied by an awesome playlist to listen to in-between talks. The stories were great and the tour itself was great value. I would highly recommend.

This tour is absolutely worth it! We had Dalton as our guide and he was hilarious. Not only was the tour fun, it is a great way to explore York's centre. Thank you to Dalton for making it such a fun and interesting experience. If you do one thing in York, it's this.

Excellent tour of York to see the city and find out about the historic past. The tour went by super quick and the tour guide was super knowledgeable and friendly. An excellent way to spend time in York. Highly recommend.

Thoroughly enjoyed our wander around the city with our fantastic guide for Murder & Mayhem True Crime - his commentary was fact filled and funny. Really pleased we booked this! It takes you off the beaten path as well as through some of the main tourist hot spots.. super interesting and our hosts voice was made for this job!! The headsets are brilliant and mean that you really can lose yourself in some of the gruesome tales of the city..! The musical accompaniment was spot on too! #bardcore rocks! Definitely recommend this 👍

Booked as a surprise so didn’t know what to expect, this is a unique way of seeing different parts of York City centre, the guide was so charismatic (seriously in the right job!!) which really made the experience and the details such as the music in between really tied it all together. Would really recommend to anyone looking for an alternative way of spending an afternoon especially for the price.
