  It was a rainy day to begin with...and we had not received any contact from the tour guide prior. We had a port of call delay that we communicated to the tour company, with a new pickup time of 10 am. No change to the itinerary was suggested. Connie (owner and driver) didn't arrive until 10:45 am. She apologized for being late. She said she couldn't find our number on WhatsApp to inform us. After 45 min waiting in the rain, one member from our group went back to the cruise ship. We had to walk the distance past the security gates because Connie forgot to register with the Harbour Master so she could pick us up by the cruise ship like the other tour guides. She apologized about that also. The car comfortably sat three passengers. We had 4 and it would have been miserable if we all stayed for the tour. This tour was our most expensive and most disappointing. We shared our hopes for the trip, seeing the 7 listed points of interest noted on her itinerary. We were immediately concerned about time as we were picked up late but she said not to worry that she would drive us to our next port if we missed our ship. We thought she was kidding but believe she would have if we missed the ship. She was incredibly kind and had a great sense of humor. She suggested Five Finger Strand as our most important stop and a photographers dream. So, we made that our most important stop. We never made it there. We drove hours before our first stop, to the Grianan of Aileach (The Ring Fort). Then she recommended a hotel for lunch. By this time, a quick stop at a bakery, would have been preferred as we were quickly running out of time and had only made one stop. But she needed to meet a friend at the restaurant and give him her computer to fix. Lunch took over an hour and now we could not make the rest of the stops. Her friend kindly rerouted our trip with stops at Gap of Mamore and Port Dunree and we made it back to the ship on time. Again, she apologized to us and the security guards for not registering with the harbor master and we walked back to the ship. We weren't going to leave a review at all but our following tours were so exceptional that we felt we should share our experience so Connie and company can do better and future guests can make sure to ask the right questions to guarantee a better experience than we had. Bottom line, we were not a priority. And we all made the best of it with fun banter and chit chat, but it was disappointing to say the least.

  Emerald Isle Tours put together the perfect day trip for me and my friends. For me it was very personal, discovering roots I learned about recently through Ancestry. Connie knows Ireland so well, and the area I wanted to see like the back of her hand. We went to places I'd never have seen with any other tour company. She came a fair distance to pick us up and bring us back so was a long day for her. She was very generous with her time and her stories and was a delight to spend time with and get to know. I would book a tour with Emerald Isle Tours again in a heartbeat!

  We had been planning our long-awaited first trip to Ireland, and while we had a general idea of a few places & things we *had* to take in, it was getting overwhelming to narrow down all the possibilities. Also, wondering what a realistic itinerary would be for a self-drive tour. Connie of Emerald Isle Tours was a lifesaver. She made a custom itinerary that accommodated our own "must-see/do" list, combined with delightful other places and experiences, that made each day exciting, yet personal and comfortable. There were also enough options and flexibility built in, that we could adapt it when we needed to (lingering over coffee near Cliffs of Moher) without throwing off the whole schedule. Another plus of having an itinerary, it kept us moving. There is so much to see and do in Ireland, I fear it would have been easy to dally in many places, but then we would have missed out or had to cut short on things that were ultimately important to us! Connie's itinerary didn't make us feel rushed, but it did help with pacing ourselves - allowing enough time to really "visit" a place, rather than just "stop by". And the lodging places were outstanding! If you are stuck in your own planning, unable to make a decision, like we were, I highly recommend contacting Connie, she will be the lifeline you need to rescue your vacation with a sane but fabulous experience. We loved our time on the Emerald Isle!

  We had a lovely time with guide Peter. Connie had proposed an itinerary and we worked with Peter to customize a bit. Malin Head was fabulous and the walk out to Hell’s Hole well worth it. The Doagh Famine Village was very interesting full of cultural and political aspects. We spent only a little time there and would go back to explore more.

  My husband and I came to Ireland not knowing what to expect, I basically contacted Connie and said plan something, this was an experience we will never forget. She got to know us personality and really personalized trips for us. She treated us as family, We loved her so much we kept booking day tours with her, without Connie we wouldn’t of had the experience we deserved, we 100 percent recommend her. • Amazing tour of Ireland!

  After learning we don't like large group tours the hard way, we scheduled a private tour of Ireland, just my husband and I. We had an amazing 17 days visiting awesome sights around Ireland with Connie & Emerald Isle Tours. She is knowledgeable about Ireland AND a fun companion. Both my husband and I had a lovely and relaxing vacation with all the details handled professionally by her. We saw many sights we could not have found or known about without her. Each day was packed with activities that we selected and wanted to see. I would HIGHLY recommend Connie & her company to anyone, even those who want to see Ireland but don't want to travel alone. She would be perfect for that. We feel like we have made a friend who lives in Ireland!! She showed us amazing sights, took us on adventures, and educated us on the history of Ireland. All in all, it was a fabulous experience. Connie was the difference between a regular vacation with some work involved and a completely relaxing and fabulous experience. She is well worth the cost. She works very hard to give you the best experience and she loves her work!!!

  I wanted to see the ten Game of Thrones doors scattered all across Northern Ireland, but there wasn't a single touring company that offered that service...except one. Thanks to Connie at Emerald Isle Tours, I got my wish! Connie not only went above and beyond what I wanted to see, but she put in a full day PLUS of driving. She took me to scenic locations that weren't on any of the regular tour itineraries and I got photos that others didn't offer. She said it would be a long day (we even skipped the door at Enniskillen as I could do that one on my own by bus), but we didn't get back to Belfast until well after dark. She went to all the places on my list and even though she worked so hard to get me to all the places I wanted to see, she ended the day with the same smile and polite manner she had when she picked me up that morning. I cannot recommend her highly enough! I would recommend hiring her for her two-day Game of Thrones door tour as you even get to spend a night in a castle!

  Contacted owner, Connie, based on recommendation of a friend. Had to be one of the best moves ever! Hubby and I wanted to see as much of Ireland in 10 days as possible and Connie made that happen. We were doing a self-driving trip and from arrival in Dublin, where Connie had reserved our car, to returning to Dublin for flight to US, we had an A+ tour. Connie knows the best way to see the real Ireland, not just the city centers and tourist spots. She also knows the secrets to getting to the better parking spots at Cliffs of Moher etc. She made our hotel reservations and had them pre-paid so all we had to do was show up, sleep and leave the next morning after a huge breakfast! Connie also made reservations at a number of sites to keep us from standing in long ticket lines. She even went out of her way just to meet us for a brief visit. She was by her phone 24-7 in case we had any questions or concerns. I HIGHLY recommend Connie and Emerald Isle Tours!

  What a wonderful day Connie provided for us ! She picked us up in the AM from Belfast with our itenerary taking us through the Antrim Coast with stops at Carrick A Rede Bridge, Giants Causeway, Many small coastal villages , Derry, Letterkenny and anywhere our hearts desired. She was fantastic at giving us history facts and local lore. We ended our day in beautiful Donegal town at the Reel Inn where we were treated to an evening of trad music and warm company. We we're also very lucky to be able to have Connie take us out several days later from Salthill out to the Connemara area and Wild Atlantic Way coastal region. What a feast for the soul. Connie once again made sure we saw sights and enjoyed the wonder of Ireland. Without her driving and letting us soak up all the sights our trip would not have been as special as it was. This truly makes the difference between a relaxing, enjoyable trip to where am I and where am I going. Having the luxury of going at our own pace and not have the worries of trying to enjoy the beauty while navigating the roads or being on the timeframe of a group tour is priceless. • Perfect Day Tour of the Inishowen Peninsula

  I spent 3 glorious weeks in Ireland recently and I must say the one day I toured with Connie was by far my best day! Connie went above and beyond ensuring my day tour of Inishowen was the highlight of my visit. She made it very personal...with great conversation and knowledge of the area, stopping numerous times for photos and walks, even climbing and laying on the ground to gather holy water for me from St. Eigne's Well at Mamore Gap (I do wish I had a photo of that)! If you are looking for a personal, off the beaten track Ireland experience, I highly recommend Connie and Emerald Isle tours. I will definitely return ... hopefully for a longer visit next time! Thanks again Connie!
