This semi-private tour offers a memorable experience for small / medium sized groups.
Stops will include Mt. Inasa, the Atomic Bomb Museum, the Epicenter, Peace Park, Dejima, Chinatown, Oura Cathedral, and Glover Garden, subject to weather and time. Alternate sites like Nishizaka, Suwa Shrine, or Spectacles Bridge may be visited should weather or closures see the original tour sites unavailable.
Entrance to all sites, and public transportation costs are included. Food, beverages, or sudden return to tour start point transportation costs, are not included.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if a tour is showing as not available. We may be able to cater to your dates. Those with mobility challenges, please message us to check suitability. This tour requires a minimum of 4 to take place. We will notify you early if this is unlikely to be met to discuss options.

5.00We had an outstanding experience with our guide Pene in Nagasaki —easily the best guide we had during our trip to Japan. He was incredibly organized, personable, and had a good sense of humor that made the day both informative and fun. His daughter Ester assisted and took over for the last hour or so. Our group was about 12 people, which can be tricky to manage, but Pene and Ester handled everything seamlessly. Instead of taking the tram, he arranged taxis for us so we could get around efficiently and make the most of our time. Thanks to his planning, we were able to see a lot without ever feeling rushed. Highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Hiroshima!

5.00We met our guides at the cruise terminal & started out on a wonderfully fulfilling adventure. Having a teacher as a guide made each stop on our itinerary more informative, learning a great deal of background history and culture. At the Nagasaki museum, Pene & Esther gave us background information but waited for us outside because they wanted us to experience the exhibits on our own without their influence or commentary. They were so organized and efficient. We were able to get the most out of each stop. On Pene's suggestion, we were able to try "Nagasaki noodles" for lunch. They were delicious! The Pirates hat was a nice touch. Thank you both for an exceptional day! If you want a great tour in Nagasaki, you must ask for Pene and Esther.

5.00Very well organised tour. One of the best tours we have experienced recently. Directions to the meeting point was very well explained in advance with pictures etc and we had no problem in finding the two friendly guides at the cruise terminal. The itinerary was also well designed and we were given sufficient free time at each stop to explore and learn about the places we visited and to take pictures etc. Both Penn and Esther are knowledgeable and we learnt a lot from them. The price they charged for the tour was very reasonable. We recommend this tour to anyone and we give them 5 stars!

5.00Penne is an excellent tour guide. He was born and raised in New Zealand, so his English is very good and easy to understand. He has lived in Nagasaki for a long time. He has a complete understanding of Nagasaki and its history. He took us all over Nagasaki and explained everything so very well. You will leave Nagasaki with a complete understanding of Japan, Nagasaki history, and feeling as if you saw a good portion of the city. I highly recommend this tour. Thank you, Penne!!

5.00This was an amazing tour of Nagasaki. Pene, our tour guide, was wonderful. The tour was semi-private but ended up just my husband and myself. Because we have mobility issues, Pene was very sensitive to our limitations. He took us to places that you would not see on those large group tours. He was very thorough in explaining the history and culture of Nagasaki. The highlight of the tour was the museum which detailed the bombing of Nagasaki. It was very heart wrenching. It reminded me of the 911 museum in New York. I left feeling emotionally drained, but it was something I wanted to experience. I wanted to bring back a kimono for my daughter and he took us to a store that made custom kimonos. Even though I did not purchase one, he made sure I was given the opportunity. I also asked him if he could find a store that sold Pokémon merchandise. Again he came through. I highly recommend this tour with Pene. I would give him a 10!

5.00Pene (my guide) was an absolute delight. Living in Japan for over 20 years he has an outsiders/insiders perspective on tourism in the Nagasaki area. He has incredible intelligence and knowledge of the historic presence in the area. A thoughtful orator, the historic walk with Pene was enlightening and informative. He has a way with words to provide a visual picture of the area. Pene is always open to learning so he gave me some new knowledge he had found out about the area. Having the afternoon and early evening tour with Pene was the highlight of my trip. He would be amazing one on one or with a group. He will curate a special tour to accommodate your desires.

5.00Since I was traveling with my parents (both seniors) with Nagasaki as the first leg of our Kyushu trip, we decided to book a guided tour -- and had absolutely no regrets choosing this one. Our guide, Pene, was very considerate, friendly, and made sure the pace was comfortable for everyone. The tour was also very well-organized. He emailed us the itinerary over a week before the trip, and made adjustments tailored to our preferences, given that we requested to attend Sunday mass during the tour. Pene also offered car transport at an extra fee, which we availed of. Because of this, we were also able to visit a lot of the must-see places. The stories and local insights made the places we visited much more meaningful, especially when learning about Nagasaki’s history. We also got some great tips on spots to check out after the tour. Overall, it was an enjoyable and informative experience and definitely worth it. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Nagasaki for the first time!
