This pleasant hike of moderate difficulty will take you up to the top of the most popular mountain in the Cycladic island cluster: Mount Zas!

Once you reach the peak, there are many things to be proud of! Not only will you be at the highest point in the Cyclades, but you’ll have hiked to the summit of the mountain where Zeus, Father and King of the Olympian Gods, was raised.

The trail you’ll be following is exactly the same trail people have been following to the top of the mountain since ancient times. The vast blue of the Aegean Sea will accompany you along the way, while the view of the neighboring Cycladic islands is breathtaking. When you’re at the top, the 360 degree view is worthy of the Gods!

Once you reach the top, you’ll spend some time taking photos and having a delicious traditional treat. After you take in all the beauty, you start on your way back! At the end of your hike you'll enjoy a delicious traditional picnic!

I don’t normally write reviews, but was extremely pleased with our beautiful hike up Mt. Zas with Nick, a super friendly and knowledgeable guide. Nick not only knew all about the vegetation, environment and culture of Naxos, but also related to us many of the interesting Greek mythology stories. It was a thorough enjoyable day, culminating in a delicious picnic lunch with many delectable local food products. I highly recommend this tour!

The experience was a highlight of my visit to Naxos. Nat and Ana were very informative about Naxos and Greek history. The hike was smooth, and the picnic at the end was a lovely way to wrap up the tour with traditional greek food I had never tried before. I would definitely recommend this hike to friends and family visiting Naxos.

We highly recommend this great guided hike up the beautiful Mt Zas! Nick picked us up right on time, provided hiking poles and a safe and interesting hike. Good walking shoes are important as it gets pretty rocky near the top. Nick shared stories about the history and the myths of the Island and provided a delicious picnic once we returned to the starting point. We wish we could have tried other tours run by Trekking Hellas. It's a well run company!

Our guide Nic was just amazing! He was knowledgeable and great company along with very patient with this rather inexperienced hiker. The highlights were I did it and the views are spectacular. I was apprehensive and in hindsight I guess moderately difficult. Worth every unsteady step to see many of the islands I have visited from the summit of the mountain. Our local picnic lunch was wonderful a sampling of classic Greek dishes. From our guide Nic to the views to the experience It’s a 10!
