We offer a local naxian farm experience where you can see our farm animals like chickens rabbits pigs peacocks and collect the eggs! You will be guided through the olive and fruit trees and you will taste seasonal fruits and our extra virgin olive oil! We will collect also vegetables and the famous naxian potato! We will taste naxian wine, raki and Naxos variety of cheese! We will cook together with our grandmother naxian recipes from the products that we have collected before! We will also dance naxian local dances!"

The tour commences at a family-owned farm located near the village of Melanes. To begin with, guests will have the opportunity to meet a diverse range of farm animals, including chickens, rabbits, pigs, peacocks, and more. You will also have the opportunity to engage in collecting the day's freshly laid eggs. Following that, a visit to the olive groves will allow you to learn about the methods employed to cultivate healthy trees and produce top-quality olive oil. Subsequently, we will guide you through the potato fields, introducing you to the renowned Naxian potato. You will then have the chance to explore various fruit trees, sampling the delicious seasonal fruits they yield. Next on the itinerary is a visit to the vineyard and vegetable garden, where you can gather the finest seasonal produce. Finally, you will collaborate in cooking traditional Naxian recipes over a wood fire. This culinary adventure will include preparing a Naxian omelet and an appetizer such as zucchini balls, tzatziki as a dip, savoring Naxian potatoes, sampling a variety of Naxos cheeses, preparing a main dish such as "briam" or "gemista" and enjoying locally produced house wine.

5.00The host and his family are really friendly. The food was delicious and plenty, everyone participated in preparing even the kids. The preparation is very well organized and the experience is memorable, would recommend it definitely!

2.00I cannot believe this farm experience / cooking class gets a 5 star from anyone. They have obviously never been to a real cooking class. While our guide/hostess Constantina was absolutely the sweetest… the “experience” we had was absolutely dreadful. After a silly 45 minute farm tour - which consisted of an egg hunt (clearly placed eggs by owner,) we then we sat for 4 hours (yes - 4 hours.) It was almost as if it was their first cooking class. Nothing was prepared and the whole experience felt very disorganized. There was a lot of waiting and not a lot of cooking. We sat for 4 hours and cooked maybe a total of 30 minutes. The other issues is the flies. I realize this is an outside Kitchen and flies cannot be avoided. But it was disgusting. Flies everywhere - on the food we prepared and the food that was already cooked. Again - everyone was very nice but the whole experience felt very chaotic and unenjoyable.
The advertising doesn’t quite match the experience :(

3.00I really sat with whether or not to write this but at the end of the day I think it’s important to know exactly what you’re getting out of an experience especially when children are involved and there are expectations going into it. The description of this experience is robust in its offerings as well as the photos uploaded, those thing are not exactly what we experienced. The description says you will interact with animals (along with a picture of a family throwing chicken seed with chickens) we merely walked past a few cages of chickens with absolutely no “interaction”, there was a photo of a horse, pigs. None of this existed in interaction whatsoever. There was also a description about gathering eggs, as well as photos of this. This wasn’t mentioned at all nor occurred. When we booked we booked with the intention of our children actually being able to interact with animals like the experience advertises so it was certainly a let down for us. The people were nice but I think this experience is growing as the small group promised on the website was over 20 people in total. Perhaps, they are losing the sweetness of the experience in their growth? Overall, we were a little disappointed.

5.00This was an exceptional farm to table experience! My son had a wonderful time learning about all the farm animals, and how the olive trees, the olives get collected to make olive oil oil and how the family makes wine during the winter!! Then the cooking portion began and there were two other families that participated as well and it just was so much fun. Niko couldn't have been more kind and this could not have been a better experience. I highly recommend this for a wonderful experience.!
