And that's still not all: choose from 2 tour lengths, so you can enjoy your winter fairy tale as long as you like!

Are you able to walk slightly uphill from the car park to Neuschwanstein castle - approx. 1,5 km/1mile in an hour's time? If not, we have to calculate additional (waiting-) time for the horse-hybrid carriage or the Shuttle bus (not operating during snow and ice) – Anyway, an approx. 450 meters/0.28 miles uphill walk (up to 15 % slope) or an approx. 500 meters/0.3 miles downhill walk (up to 19 % gradient) from the respective terminal to the entrance of the castle have to be managed in any case! We can accompany you so that you can reach your castle tour in time.
In Neuschwanstein castle there are 346 stairs alltogether (up and down) to be managed. If this is too much for you, and if you have an appropriate medical certificate of disability or restriction of mobility or similar (must be scanned and posted to us in advance), we can book an exclusive lift service only for you with a maximum of one companion, accompanied by a castle-staff. The elevator service is without additional costs, but (because of fire regulations) the number of tours with that service is very limited and must be reconfirmed by the castle authorities. PLEASE NOTE: DUE TO COVID-19 THE ELEVATOR IS NOT OPERATING!!!
In Hohenschwangau castle you have to climb stairs up to the 3rd floor and back (no elevator).
Each castle can be reached also with strollers, but they are not allowed during the tour of the interiors.

5.00We absolutely loved our tour of Neuschwanstein Castle! It is absolutely gorgeous! Take the carriage ride up to the restaurant area because it's a very steep climb to the castle.

5.00Spectacular trip with Stefan. Visited both Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles. Also did the carriage ride, which was nothing special. Made a fun drive on the Autobahn. Dropped off at the castles to tour on our own, with a time table. Guide made us a reservation at the hotel restaurant onsite, which was wonderful (on our own for payment). Drove through Oberammergau on the way home and driver took the time to stop at a great wood carving shop in town. Overall, would highly, highly recommend

5.00Spectacular castle!! Simply stunning views on such a beautiful day! Took a Grey Line Tour, which was tremendous as we had a lovely bus and a great tour guide.... the castle is a nice hike up the hill, wonderful views from the walk up, the bridge view is out of this world and a timed entry into the castle for the tour was perfect and not a long wait. A few of the rooms were closed for renovations but the rooms that were completed by Ludwig and shown were stunning!! Just a perfect day trip to see this unfinished masterpiece of King Ludwig. Also nice memories of the Disney movie! Easy trip by a tour bus from Munich.
