Cruise to the incredible Witless Bay Ecological Reserve for your chance to watch puffins, whales, and icebergs. Wildlife attractions vary with the time of year. Puffins nest May through to mid-September. Whale season peaks mid-June through mid-August. Whale sometimes sighted before and after peak period. Icebergs typically appear May to mid-June. Whales and or icebergs are not guaranteed on any given cruise.
Enjoy entertaining and educational live commentary provided by on board naturalists and crew. Learn about Newfoundland's marine wildlife and heritage from your enthusiastic, knowledgeable, professional guides during this awesome adventure. Our catamaran offers the most space for your comfort. Our tour boat offers the greatest range to improve chance of encountering whales and other marine wildlife.
Tours duration is a minimum of 90 minutes. Tour boat has indoor accommodations for all guests. Transport Canada Certified crew & boat.

If in the event that the activity is cancelled on the part of Gatherall’s at any time prior to or during the scheduled activity, participants can elect to either reschedule at no additional charge or will receive a full refund.

5.00Do not miss this excursion! Informative and fun crew. We saw hundreds of puffins, murres, a bald eagle and best of all, a huge iceberg! Worth every penny and fun for all the family.

5.00This was such a fun tour. All of the staff were fun and engaging and very knowledgeable about the area, species of whales, and species of birds! Make sure to bring a camera with a zoom, you don’t get super close to capture with a phone camera but you definitely see a lot!

5.00Depending when you go and the weather, dress appropriately. Make sure you always hang onto something for safety while sailing. No whales visible but had a huge iceberg viewing. Puffins and other birds were plentiful. Captain & their crew were safety conscious. Nice information on the puffins. Sing was was nice.

5.00Whale watching and seabirds absolutely have to be on your to-do list! Gatherall's is a short 30-minute jaunt from St. John's. The crew were engaging, highly knowledgeable, and helpful, pointing out all the puffins, other seabirds, and a pair of humpback whales. Definitely put this on your itinerary. Irishtown and nearby Petty Harbour have great food and drink options for after your tour with Gatherall's!
After research and the actual visit…..RECOMMENDED!

5.00It was a great time. I was able to adjust the day of the tour due to weather without any issues at all. We were there end of May. Staff onboard were friendly, traditional, and fun. Safety was expressed and the ship felt safe.
