What To Expect

We take a 20-minute boat ride to the Bioluminescent Bay. Once at the Bioluminescent Bay, you can snorkel with the bioluminescence. Snorkeling is optional, you can remain on the boat. You can still see the bioluminescence from the boat, but it is 10x in the water with a mask. Minimum age is 3 years. Maximum weight is 275 pounds.

Good guides, but the experience is boring and not worth the money. Pretty underwhelming. I’d rather snorkel in the pretty water!

Wear full body rash guard and something warm for the travel back. Check into proper camera for capturing. Told our go pro wouldn't work.

It pains me to say this because I think the tour operator seems like a wonderful, kind person — but we were underwhelmed by the experience. I would describe this less as a “tour” and more of a 20 minute boat ride with a quick drop into the bio-bay. We swam around the perimeter of the boat to see the plankton light up, re-boarded and quickly returned back. It felt a little transactional. The crew, boat, and drinks on board were great. The bio-bay was cool to see. The experience just felt a little underwhelming.

It was a beautiful night , the ride over was very fun. We met a lot of great people . The captain and helper were very helpful and kind . It just so happened the moon was a little too bright to see any colors in the water .
