  My father, brother and myself booked a Nile cruise. We spcifically booked separately, paid with different credit cards, requested single rooms. We get all the way to Aswan to find they collected our three separate reservations and put us in one room. While they refunded us after screwing us, we were stuck in Aswan without a cruise and had to find something last minute. Avoid this agency.

  We reached out to viator to book a cruise from Aswan to Luxor for 3 nights and 4 days for a group of 7 people including children. We made our expectation very clear to the viator agent. We asked for a luxury cruise including the hot air balloon ride. When the agent promised a good deal for a luxury cruise including the hot air balloon ride, we asked for more details about the name of the ship, the type of rooms etc. However, these requests went in vain as we were told that the ship and rooms will be allotted only post payment. Since we didn’t have time on our hands, we paid upfront and finalised the cruise. We were met with a not-so-pleasant surprise when we embarked on our cruise. The ship looked old and run down. To our respite, the common areas such as the lounge and the deck were well maintained but the rooms were far from luxurious. One of our rooms had a dank gassy smell to it, and the bathrooms were a nightmare with water coagulating every now and then. On enquiry with the ship management, we were told that the ship is almost 30 years old and is due for renovation. When we were just reconciling with the reality of our stay for the next 3 days, the guide that was allocated through the local agency for us started fabricating stories of hot air balloon rides being canceled in the hope of swindling 40 dollars per person from each of us. We were outraged and we refused to pay anything extra because we were promised at the time of the booking that the hot air balloon ride is part of our cruise package without any additional costs. Thankfully Viator was helpful in this regard and they promptly contacted the local travel agency to ensure that we didn’t have to pay anything extra for the hot air balloon rides. All in all, Viator has been helpful but they should have better control over the local agencies that they tie up with in Egypt to ensure that tourists get what they pay for and they don’t fall trap to swindlers.

  We booked the 4 day/3 nights nile cruise from Aswan to Luxor with Talaat, our tour guide. It was a great experience for us and we had really a very nice time. The group was super sympathic and our tour guide made sure we all enjoy our time there. He is a very friendly and humorous guy and made the culture program always interesting. I can absolutely recommend it!

  I had a great time on the cruise. The ship was nice, the food was good and Talaat, the tour guide was knowledgeable, timely and accommodating when faced with the unexpected. Thoroughly enjoyed my time under his direction. Job well done - no complaints.

  Talaat is the best guide tour that you can find, He cares about all of us at all times and if any problem arises he knows how to solve it.

  Had a wonderful 3-4 day cruise on The Nile. Talaat Abdo, our guide, is very knowledgeable. We learned a lot from him and his patience and organization skills kept us on schedule and able to experience everything we wanted.

  Days were not as described in the daily plan when booking. On top of that unlogical planning, both resulting in 4 days of immense lack of sleep and days of fast and long bus rides towards sites (and side hustles like a tea shop, Nubian town, stone shop, restaurant), and visiting those sites at the most crowded times.
