Iga-ryu Ninja Museum
Stepping into the Ninja Museum feels like traveling back in time to a village where ninjas once lived. Your visit begins at the Ninja Residence (Ninja Yashiki), a Traditional Japanese house that, at first sight, appears normal but hides ingenious tricks and cleverly hidden devices. Here, you will see a member of the staff dressed as a ninja demonstrating and explaining how ninjas utilized secret mechanisms within the house, giving you a clear sense of how ninjas responded quickly and intelligently when faced with danger. The museum also displays a wide range of authentic weapons and tools that were used in the past. As you view these historical items up close while listening to the local guide’s introduction, you may find that although they look modest at first glance, their real functions are far more surprising than you would expect.
After learning about the history and tricks of ninjas, it’s time to practice and become one yourself! We will head to 'Bansenshukai,' a facility where you can experience authentic ninja training. First, you will enjoy lunch in a calm, refined restaurant and enjoy an Iga beef set meal with local vegetables and chewy clay-pot rice. After lunch, it’s time for the highlight: ninja training. In this session, you’ll learn techniques recorded in the Bansenshukai. After changing into training attire, an English-speaking ninja instructor will guide you step by step, starting with the basic ninja mindset, hand signs, and set phrases, before you move into the main training area for the full program. Night-watch guards will patrol as you move like a shadow through the dark, testing your new skills in the challenge.

This is a whole day trip with several stops. Yui Prima Olivia Brand makes sure that you are guided throughout the whole trip. Starting from Kyoto station tourist bus stop, a very luxury bus takes you to Iga, the home of the ninjas! It travels through stunning lands with incredible view. The bus is very comfortable, spacious, leather seats, with USB phone charging option and foldable desk. At each stop, the company makes sure you are guided, do not have to deal with entry tickets, just enjoy the experience! They have limited group size, not large groups. They are servint drinks on the bus, including juices, coffee, tea, beer, sake and wine. All included in the price. The staff is incredibly helpful and friendly. The programs are: 2 stops along the motorway (one on the way to Iga and one back), stop at the Iga Ninja museum, where a local guide explains the history of the ninjas and the tools they were using. The museum experience includes a demonstartion of a ninja house, including the tricks and hidden parts. The next stop for lunch is a great restaurant which provides the ninja experience. The food had a great variety and quality, was tasty as well. Here you can also try the famuos Iga rice along the feast. After lunch, they provide some clothes to dress up, and a local ninja guides you through a sneaking course, explaining the tricks and making you practice them. You can also throw Shurikens! The last stop is a pottery, where they explain the secret of the Iga pottery. You can also purchase these local produce or, for 700 Yen you can purchase a good coffe and they give you a coffee "mug", which is also made in the Iga potter spirit. Totally worth it, because it looks and feels fantastic. The overall experience is fantastic, presenting genuine stuff, and worth it. For smokers: both motorway stops has a designated smoking area. The museum and the ninja experience places do not have one, or did not find it. The pottery place has a designated smoking area

It was an amazing experience, thank you so much! 🙏 The bus and the staff were incredible, and they helped us with everything. We received alcoholic and non-alkoholic drinks several times, a small gift box, water, and everything was included in the price. The ninja museum was a fantastic experience. They showed us what everyday life was like for ninjas, where and how they hid when they were attacked, and they even demonstrated it for us. Then they took us on a “mission,” which was both exciting and really fun. We could dress up as ninjas, and at the end we even received certificates for the skills we learned. 🥷 The lunch was fantastic as well, and the meat was incredibly tender. The whole program lasted from around 9:30 AM until about 6:30 PM. There were absolutely no crowds, and the staff was able to pay attention to everyone personally. Delia was especially thoughtful and kind throughout the entire experience.

It’s my first time taking such a luxurious bus trip and it was a wonderful experience! The Yui Prima Olivia is *gorgeous* not to mention a smooth and elegant ride. Delia was our main tour guide and she was fantastic! Kind, knowledgeable and extremely friendly, she was always at the ready to take care of our needs. Moe and Sharma were incredibly phenomenal trainees. The entire service staff was top tier!! Between the free and unlimited drink/snack service and the locally made gift package, I certainly felt like royalty. I enjoyed riding in style and the tour itself was an amazingly memorable experience. I cannot recommend this tour line enough!

Great experience! It is hard to go to Iga ninja area with public transport, so having a private bus is great. The bus is really luxurious, beautiful design and comfortable. We received lot of drinks - coffee, sake, soft drinks - and snacks during the travel. We learnt a lof of about ninja culture and the area, the ninja experience was also fun. The lunch was provided at the location and it was a delight with local beef and vegetables. Great experience for family or together with friends.

The bus and crew were amazing and the experiences were well organised. I’ve lived in Japan for a while and even I learned some new information. The Iga- Yaki was wonderful and the coffee shop setting felt like a trip down memory lane.
