Your journey begins with a visit to the historic Nizwa Fort and the bustling Nizwa Souq, followed by a stop at the charming Al Hamra village. From there, you'll head up to Jebel Shams, known as the Grand Canyon of Oman, where you’ll enjoy a scenic photo stop at the top (no hiking involved). After taking in the breathtaking mountain views, you’ll drive back to Muscat.
Please note: The Jebel Shams tour is the longest day trip in Oman, offering some of the most spectacular mountain scenery in the country.

Pick up anywhere in Muscat area then drive from Muscat to nizwa will take around 2 hours
Nizwa Souq
Nizwa Souq, a local marketplace that offers a variety of goods including jewelry, pottery, fish, and meats. The list goes on! After, we take off to Al Hamra to visit the village where we get to experience how the locals create a lifestyle in the older times. After this quick tour, we move on to Misfah al Abryeen, a truly pristine village that nestles at the base of Jebel Shams. Here you will get to see the large Falaj water system that supplies water to the nearby vegetation. There are numerous marked footpaths throughout the village that is recommended to take your time and explore.

5.00Said Al Kiyumi texted the day before to introduce himself. He arrived promptly in a clean, luxurious, air conditioned car, well stocked with bottled water. On our way to Nizwa he gave us the historical details about the fort and soqu. He’s well spoken, witty and with a good sense of humor. He anticipated our needs and ensured we saw all the sights ; never feeling rushed. We look forward to exploring more of Oman with him. Rosa the booking rep was very helpful and knowledgeable about the trips. Mr. Mohamed, the owner of Oman Sharing Tour also called us to make sure we were pleased with the arrangement and services provided.

5.00This was our second day with Saif, and once again he was an outstanding guide. His knowledge of Oman’s history and landscapes really brought everything to life, and nothing was ever too much trouble. The highlight was Jebel Shams Canyon, but Saif went above and beyond by taking us to a hidden gem in Ad Dakhiliyah that we would never have found on our own. Throughout the drive we really enjoyed talking with him about life and culture in Oman, which made the whole experience even more memorable. On the way back he even treated us to local tea and delicacies, a thoughtful touch that made the day feel really special. He also shared recommendations for places to explore on our next visit, which shows just how much pride he takes in showcasing his country. One of the very best tours we’ve done on our travels – highly recommended. Thank you Saif 🙏

5.00We booked this trip the night before and it could not have been more well organised. Ali sent me a message introducing himself and explaining that he would meet us in our hotel lobby at 7am. He was prompt and on time, which immediately put us at ease. We could not have asked for a better tour guide. He was kind, friendly, warm, insightful and very accommodating. Ali explained everything in so much detail, sharing fascinating insights into Oman’s history, traditions and rich culture. He tailored the day to our interests, made sure we were comfortable at all times, and his driving felt safe and reliable. Visiting Nizwa and Jebel Shams was unforgettable – the scenery, the stories, and the little touches Ali added made the day truly special. Ali is simply an asset to the tour company – a wonderful human with a warm heart. We left with not just memories of Oman, but the feeling that we had spent the day with a friend. Thank you, Ali, for making our day so special. We would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Oman!

5.00We had an amazing day with Sunshine Tours exploring Nizwa and Jebel Shams Canyon. Our guide Ali Alharti, was absolutely friendly, welcoming and incredibly knowledgeable. He took such great care of us and made the whole experience unforgettable. Ali showed us the beauty of Oman in a genuine way, and we could really feel his passion for sharing his country. Sunshine Tours clearly has fantastic guides who truly want you to experience Oman at its best. We are very grateful to Ali for everything today and can’t thank him enough. 5.00Scenic Views, Great Company, and Delicious Food Exploring Jebel Shams with friends and our guide, Mr. Mohammed, was one of the highlights of our time in Oman. The day began with an early pick-up from our Muscat, and right away, we could tell we were in good hands. Mr. Mohammed is not just an excellent driver he’s a great storyteller, sharing local insights and making the road trip both fun and educational. Arriving at Jebel Shams, we were blown away by the panoramic views of the canyon. It’s the kind of place where you just stand still for a few moments to take it all in. We took a short hike along the rim and captured incredible photos together. Mr. Mohammed even offered to take group shots for us, and they turned out beautifully. After our adventure, we stopped at a well-chosen restaurant for lunch. The food was delicious, the atmosphere welcoming, and it was the perfect way to relax before heading back. The drive back to Muscat was peaceful, and we all chatted about how perfect the day had been. If you’re planning to see Jebel Shams, I can’t recommend Mr. Mohammed enough he truly made the experience unforgettable.

5.00An Adventure to Remember Our group of friends had been looking forward to visiting Jebel Shams for a while, and this trip exceeded every expectation! The day started with a smooth pick-up from our hotel in Muscat. Mr. Mohammed, our guide, greeted us with a warm smile and was so friendly and informative throughout the journey. He pointed out interesting landmarks on the way and made the long drive feel short with his great conversation. Once at Jebel Shams, we were stunned by the beauty of the canyon it truly lives up to its name as the Grand Canyon of Oman. We explored some walking trails, took amazing photos, and just stood in awe of the view. The cool mountain air was such a refreshing change from Muscat’s warmth. We also really enjoyed our lunch stop at a charming restaurant nearby. The local food was flavorful and served in generous portions a perfect reward after our adventure. By the time we were back at the hotel, we all agreed this was one of the best days of our trip. Thanks to Mr. Mohammed’s kindness, knowledge, and professionalism, it’s a memory we’ll cherish forever.
