  Very professional and enjoyable outing. Pieter, our Captain and Mirian the first mate and hostess have been sailing for over 40 years. The boat ride was very enjoyable and the food and drinks were outstanding. The captain used the sails all day except for pulling up to his tether. Plenty of room on the boat ; they keep the maximum to 16 guests. We take a lot of catamaran trips in the Caribbean and this was one of the best especially for value.

  Great sailing trip! You sail on a beautiful trimaran a long way around the island. With the wind in your sails, without an engine. Along the way drinks, cakes, tasty fresh bread rolls and fruit. Yeah, great. Pieter and Marian have been sailing for decades and tell you all about the island. A stop to swim on where you could snorkel nicely. Even seen rays and barracuda!

  WOW!! REAL sailing!!! Captain Pete and his crew (Jayden and Anna) pampered us to the max! Very relaxed trip, fun sailing, not just being driven around by a motor, and delicious sandwiches served fresh!! They kept our glasses full the entire sailing! This is a MUST if you love the sea and open water!!! Highly recommend ! Also love the few “maximum” passengers! We only had 13 passengers as opposed to other companies filling the Cat like a full elevator! Don’t hesitate to book this experience !! Taxi was about 30 minute drive from cruise pier.

  Great time with Peter and Marianne. Sailed the whole time instead of motoring like most "sailing trips". Big comfortable boat with plenty of space to move around.

  This was a wonderful excursion. Pickup instructions were clear, the catamaran was clean, comfortable and very smooth on the water. Miriam was a great host- we especially loved the sandwiches she made for lunch and the fruit platter. We sailed all over, stopped for a swim and had wine and beer as we enjoyed the day.

  Peter and Miriam were great hosts. We had an awesome day on board their sailboat. The food and snacks were amazing. Highly recommend this sailboat tour.

  While there are countless “snorkel + sailboat” excursions all over the Caribbean, No 1 SXM is really unique. This was the first charter I’ve ever been on that is truly dedicated to sailing…. And it’s an infinitely better experience. Having the engine off and being carried along under full sails is peaceful and serene in a way that those other “booze cruise” operators can’t compete with. Highly recommend. Don’t forget lots of sunscreen and your biggest hat.

  An Absolutely Perfect Day with No. 1 Sailing!"** If you’re looking for an unforgettable sailing experience in St. Maarten, look no further than No. 1 Sailing! We spent the most incredible day with them during the final day of the St. Maarten Regatta, and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we stepped on board, we felt like part of the family. The day was perfectly balanced—right in the middle of the regatta action, with plenty of time to snorkel in crystal-clear waters, enjoy a delicious breakfast and lunch, and soak up the sun. This wasn’t one of those noisy booze cruises (though drinks were definitely available and served with a smile!). Instead, it was a classy, relaxing, and utterly enjoyable day on the water. A huge thank you to our sailor/captain, Pieter, who was fantastic—knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what he does. And to Marion (apologies if I’ve misspelled the name!), who was an absolute gem. Despite dealing with an injury, Marion’s warmth and professionalism shone through, making us feel so welcome. By the end of the day, it felt like we’d known the crew and fellow guests for years. The vibe was just that special. If you’re in St. Maarten, do yourself a favor and book with No. 1 Sailing.
