The tour mainly covers the northern part. Because of its’ advantage being the center of an ancient civilization, the area is endowed with huge historical and archaeological monuments. The area is also home of four world heritage sites, including the only natural world heritage site of the country, the Simien Mountains National Park. When one thinks about tour in Ethiopia, it is hard to forget the historic route.

Lake Tana
This is the largest lake in Ethiopia with 37 islands. There are around 22 ancient churches and monasteries on theses isolated islands. Travelers will visit some of this ancient holy places and birds and hippos on the lake.
Blue Nile Falls
The beautiful fall located around 36 kms from Bahirdar city. Here visitors will walk through the village to the fall and admire the country side landscape and cross the famous Blue Nile river with a boat.

5.00Alex was a great guide. He arranged my entire trip around Ethiopia, including Addis Ababa, Lalibela and Gondar, and handled and paid attention to every detail. The trip was fascinating, and included all meals, hotels, guides in each location and everything else. I highly recommend Alex as your guide and arranger in Ethiopia!

5.00After this wonderful trip, we thank Alex for preparing it so well and for looking after us from start to finish. Alex chose tours, hotels and restaurants based on our tastes and expectations. We left with family (7 people). Our guide Dawit and our drivers were very friendly and very professional. The North being a bit risky, after visiting Lalibela and its exciting buried churches, we went down to Arba Minch, along the great lakes, while visiting animal parks and meeting local people and then up to Addis Ababa. Extraordinary! We highly recommend Memento Ethiopia Tours and Alex.

5.00This review is based on my email communications with Alex from Memento, as I ended up not doing the tour with him for reasons outside of his control. Alex was extremely professional from the beginning. Over a few months timeframe, he spent a considering amount of time answering all my questions and helping me design the perfect tailored and detailed itinerary. He always wrote back the same day or the day after, speaks perfect English, and his price was super fair. You shouldn't hesitate to chose him. Memento is reliable - just look at the other reviews. I felt very confident about the company, and I will choose it when I go back to Ethiopia. Do yourself a break and do the same. You are in safe hands :)

It excels for high professionalism, effective and effective attention to our specific needs both during the Timeline of the trip and during its development, sympathy and deep knowledge of the territory. Our trip developed north between trecking, historical part and Danakil (not to be missed!) but Memento covers all Ethiopia. Outstanding Travel Agency. The best I ever came across worldwilde. 5.00We highly recommend Memento tour when organising a tour in Ethiopia : from the first contact via whatsup Alex has been an excellent and professional tour organiser. He understood our needs in setting up a very well balanced tour in the region, both historical and naturalistic. More, he agreed and suggested a day off without any problem. We have been amazed how he has guessed our wishes about hiking and even climbing accordingly to our skills. Everything went so well we are still amazed, he says we were lucky, we say it is thanks to him, his careful attention to every detail in our day-by-day schedule, his professional approach, and thanks to all his colleagues and collaborators. We want to mention our driver, Charlie, who has been such an important actor along the two weeks tour. He has very often been the "bridge" to many contacts with people and Ethiopian reality. We had such a good time sharing injera and his favorite beer with him! 5.00Very good organization and pre-trip support/explanations from Alex. Special compliments to the driver-guide Charlie who was with us from Mikele to Lalibela and who was always there for us. Alex got us very good local guides in the cities/places we visited on the way. Most memorable highlights of the trip: Gheralta mountains, Gondar, Lalibela cathedrals, Lake Tana and monasteries, Assale salt lake and baboons in Simien park.
