This quad biking tour offers a unique opportunity to experience the Icelandic wilderness at night, providing an ideal setting for observing the Northern Lights. This excursion includes a scenic drive on an ATV, with panoramic views of Reykjavík and Mosfellsbær. We will also take time to appreciate the stars and, weather permitting, look for shooting stars while anticipating the appearance of the Northern Lights.

We provide convenient pick-up services from all hotels within the Reykjavík area. Please be aware that designated non-pickup zones exist for tourists in downtown Reykjavík; in such cases, we will arrange pick-up from special tourist bus stops, which are typically located nearby. Alternatively, you are welcome to meet us directly at our basecamp, situated just 20 minutes from downtown Reykjavík.

Bring Phone with good camera with you. The newest phones can capture the Northern Lights but not the old one. We recommend Iphone 11 or better, the new Google phone and other with night mode or possibilities of few seconds open shutter mode.

Drivers need full drivers license to drive the ATV´s. Passenger can be from 6 years old.

We recommend to wear all your layers, warm shoes and socks, have handwarmers and footwarmers and scarf or good buff for your neck. It can be cold on the Quads.

Action Adventures

This quad biking tour takes you to see the Northern Lights by the beautiful Hafravatn lake and Mount Hafrafell. If it is possible to go to the mountain you will also have a great view over Reykjavik, Mosfellsbær and other towns close by. We only go if there is possibility for clear sky. Join this tour for a unique experience of driving an ATV at night to hunt for the Northern Lights. Follow a guide along rugged trails through the Icelandic countryside and discover top natural sites of interest including Hafravatn Lake and Mt. Hafrafell. Enjoy panoramic views over to nearby towns such as Mosfellsbær. If we have to wait for the lights we do starchasing and look for "shooting stars" to make the wish for endless whisses. In this tour you can go Single Ride or Double Ride. Double Ride is the standard rate and that means two people are on each quad. You can select "Single Ride" in the booking progress and pay a little extra if you dont want to share the Quad and go single ride to the tour.

All you need is a drivers license warm and good socks and shoes and warm clothes, we provide riding gear, helmets and gloves.

The experience was absolutely great. Björgvin was a great guide, he taught us how to use the ATVs and waited for the sky to clear to see the northern lights. He even took photos of us.

Great fun and our guide went out of his way in terms of time. Even dropped us back to our hotel we were out till 1 am and had a great view.

Although the weather was not perfect, the guide took good care of us and we had a great trip to the top of a mountain. The guide picked us up at the hotel and equipped us with all the gear we needed.

What an amazing experience!!! We were collected from the Marina and taken to ATV Reykjavik - where we were kitted up and briefed, and then drove up the mountains on quad bikes through some stunning scenery to the very top, where we saw the Northern Lights. Our guide was wonderful and very knowledgeable - highly recommended !

An amazing, unforgettable experience with a very knowledgeable guide. The weather had been very wet and rainy with low cloud, ATV offered to reschedule to the following night if we wanted but we already had plans. Despite the weather and cloud, we saw the Northern Lights and the guide took lots of photos and shared them with us.
