Instead of stopping at crowded viewpoints, we usually head to a private campsite, far from city lights. Enjoy organic hot chocolate or herbal tea by the fire, and taste traditional snacks and a hearty meal made from local ingredients. Of course our main priority is for you to experience the northern lights, so if the weather is bad in Grøtfjord we will go chasing the lights elsewhere!

5.00My friends and I went on a Northern Lights chase with Espen and Tor, and honestly, we couldn’t have asked for better guides. They were warm, enthusiastic, and full of knowledge. Along the way they shared stories about the area, the Sámi people, and the reindeer, and they explained both the science behind the Northern Lights and the traditional Sámi beliefs connected to them. The weather in Tromsø wasn’t great that evening, but Espen and Tor knew exactly where to take us. They drove us far away from the city lights to a spot with a dark sky and stunning mountain views — and that’s when the lights started dancing across the sky. Standing there in the Arctic night, surrounded by snow, holding a warm drink, and watching the sky glow above us… it felt absolutely magical. They even made a campfire and served warm drinks and food, which made the whole experience feel cozy and genuine. The guides also took photos of us with the Northern Lights behind us, and we later received the digital pictures — beautiful memories to bring home. Being a small group made everything feel personal and relaxed. The weather in Tromsø can be unpredictable, but we really felt that the company did everything possible to make sure we got to see the Northern Lights — and we did! I would truly recommend this tour to anyone who wants an authentic, friendly, and unforgettable Northern Lights experience in Tromsø
