The Major War Criminals Trial was held before the International Military Tribunal in Nuremberg from November 20, 1945 to October 1, 1946. As a result of this trial, Courtroom 600 of the Nuremberg Palace of Justice gained worldwide notoriety. From 1946 to 1949, 12 "Subsequent Trials" were held in the same courtroom before exclusively U. S. American military tribunals. .
Still to this day, in the southeast corner of Nuremberg, the remains of structures located on the former Nazi Party Rally Grounds impress visitors with their immense proportions and stand as vivid testimony to the megalomania of the National Socialist regime. This area of 4 square miles was intended to be an impressive backdrop for the Nazi party rallies and serve to demonstrate their power not only to Germany, but to the entire world.

The Nazi Party Rally Grounds were called the area in the southeast of Nuremberg, where the Nazi Party rallies of the NSDAP took place from 1933 to 1938. The overall design for the design of the site came from Albert Speer in the basic concept and from Walter Brugmann in detail, who also managed the implementation. A great tour led by Rob that conveyed the effort of Germans to remember and learn from history. Rob was knowledgeable, engaging and did a wonderful job of giving us information and time to explore/absorb on our own.

Great tour and a must-do in Nuremberg! The guide was very knowledgeable and made the history easy to understand. Seeing Courtroom 600 in person was a highlight and really brought the WWII history to life. I learned a lot and would definitely recommend this tour.

We saw pertinent Nazi/WW2 sites. Our guide was very friendly; however, he spoke so fast and with such a heavy accent, that the four of us had trouble understanding him. I asked him to slow down, but he didn’t. He had lots of good information and we learned a great deal. We were given about 40 minutes at the 600 Courtroom. It is so interesting and there are so many good displays that we needed about 30 minutes more. This is an expensive tour and it was the only reason we went to Nuremberg. We are really happy we took this tour and we learned a great deal.

The Nuremberg tour was part of a longer tour of Munich (including Dachau), Salzberg (including Bertesgaden), Prague and Vienna. The day of the Nuremberg tour was a highlight - powerful, moving...to stand where history happened.

We visited Courtroom 600 13 years ago but this time we took family. We were fortunate to have a cruise-ship arranged tour guide who was also a history teacher and member of a local history society. He was amazing and led our small group through every aspect of the trials. I felt like I was attending a graduate-level class on the Nuremberg Trials. It made me tingle to gaze on this scene and consider what happened here. Though only a few Nazis were actually tried, the world saw that there can be consequences for evil leaders and military brass. Like a funeral acting as an inflection point to allow those who are grieving to start to move on... the Trials served as an inflection point in post WWII world recovery.
