Reida was an excellent guide, we got to learn about local folklore and travel to local historic sites throughout Manteo, even with a little rain we had a great time! Look for the orbs, you never know!
Highly recommend if you’re looking for something fun to do!

Great guide and beautiful scenery. Guide was knowledgeable and friendly. Historic sites visited and great stories.
Our tour guide Reda was excellent, she was easy to understand and answered all of questions.

The guide (not costume) for the tour was more than adequate. However, scheduling a walking tour at 8:00 pm after September 1st is dangerous. It’s DARK. Most of the stops were unseeable or dim. Wooden walkways without railings, brick walkways, curbs, and gravel walkways made walking in the dark an adventure. The presentation could have been more professional and technologically contemporary.

Such an interesting and engaging tour! Some history, some folklore, and a lot of mystery. Our tour guide, Anne, was really personable. Even my 11 year old son loved her!

The stories were boring and there wasn’t any history. The guide was not sure about any information forget some and his dates and what little history he knew was inaccurate. What lighthouse?

My husband and I had a fun experience. We walked around Manteo and the guide had multiple interesting stories about the history of various locations. I appreciated how the stories were not all already widely known. Our tour started at 8pm which only added to the creepy factor. The guide was great. Do recommend walking shoes, as it is an hour long, but there are several stops and the walks are brief so it is not an absolute necessity.

The trip was canceled by the provider at the last minute,they only gave us a partial refund. Very disappointed in the company.

I had a problem with biting flies on the beach, and my nephew hit a deer while we were there. However, I had two good meals at John's, a carry-out seafood place that did have picnic tables in the back. We went to the Alligator River Wildlife Refuge twice to look for bears. The first time we struck out, but the second time we went at dusk and saw lots of bears. We also visited the aquarium there, which features alligators and sharks as well as friendlier species. The outdoor drama of "The Lost Colony" had not started its season yet, but is worth seeing. One of these days I hope to take a ghost tour there.
