  You should be prepared to walk a lot uphill and downhill, so dress appropriately. It was a really great experience to see the prison cells. What a miserable little space to live in. There are beautiful plants and flowers all over the island and you can see that they take care of the island to preserve history.

  Very interesting and informative if you choose the tour with the head sets. Dress warm if going early in the year.

  Our Alcatraz Tour was cancelled for unscheduled maintenance. No one contacted us. We found out an hour before at Pier 33. I spent 40 minutes on the phone waiting for a $436 refund. Never using Avitor again!

  Alcatraz has always been on my bucket list. It was cool to see the prison and hear about some of its history. I was amazed at how small the cells were.

  Easy ferry ride. Audio tour was informative and after you can walk around and take in the beautiful 350 views all around the island. The gift store has some nice options for gifting or to take back as a souvenir.

  I could'nt go, they messed up! They moved my timed slot, without even letting me know, to Sept 21st 3.50pm, while I originally booked for Sept 20, 3.50pm. I was flying out of SFO at 1.15pm on Sept 21st...how would I even make it?! When I called them multiple times around this situation, they would not even refund my tickets due to their policy! They switched the dates on me, I did not! my 291$ (for 3 adults) up in the air for nothing.... this is ridiculous. dont fall for this, dont book through viator or travelocity, terrible experience!

  DO NOT USE VIATOR!! We arrived at the dock only to be told we need to get tickets for the next boat and when we tried to get those tickets they told me my Viator tickets weren't in my name so we were out almost €600.
