Canterbury Guided Tours provide entertaining 90-minute tours for visitors to the historic city of Canterbury. From medieval lanes and pilgrim inns to the majestic Cathedral's Precincts, our tours will transport you back in time, regaling you with stories and revealing how the city has evolved over the years.
Founded in 1948, Canterbury Tourist Guides Ltd is an independent company devoted to conducting guided walking tours of the highest quality in Canterbury. Our tours are the official tours of the city, and the only tours to include access to the magnificent Cathedral's Precincts.
All our guides hold city Green Badges, having completed the accredited training course and passed the relevant examinations set by the Institute of Tourist Guiding.

5.00Wonderful experience. Alex was out your guide and he was very knowledgeable. Your was supposed to be 90 minutes and we got an extra ten minutes of information. We took the tour of Canterbury Cathedral afterward and that tour guide don’t know as much as Alex did. I would recommend.
A great introduction to the Canterbury experience

5.00My husband and I have booked this walking tour twice. This year, accompanied by our son. This time round our guide was Freddie. Although we had done the tour before, it was as lovely as our first time round. Each guide definitely brings their unique touch to the manner in which information is shared. Why this is worthwhile: - Professionally organised - Knowledgeable guides- - Affordable -Accessible- reasonably fit elderly people will still be able to enjoy the tour. In our group , we had a couple with a tiny baby in a pram and we had a couple with a pet dog, also some younger and elderly folk, all found the pace and distance manageable. Highlights- To see the Cathedral up close while listening to the history of Canterbury, including the grim fate of Thomas Beckett is certainly a highlight. What I missed: We learnt a lot about the Pilgrims, but just a tad more focus on Chaucer would have definitely made it even better for me. However, that is quite probably because I so closely associate Geoffrey Chaucer with Canterbury. Certainly would recommend this as a great introduction to your Canterbury visit.
