Plaza Colon
Considered the receiving plaza of Old San Juan, Plaza Colon is the ideal location to meet your certified tour guide. The guide will be standing in front of the big white monument located at the center of the plaza. The guide will be wearing a blue shirt and red cap. The square is a few blocks north from the cruise port and the town's main parking garages. Ubers and taxis can drop you right in the plaza. On this plaza you will learn about the colonial history of Puerto Rico and the former defensive structures that used to stand steps away from the plaza.
Castillo De San Cristobal
This World Heritage Site is the biggest fortification built by Spain in the Americas! You will tour the interior of the castle to get some of the most scenic views of the main island of Puerto Rico, the San Juan Bay and the Atlantic Ocean. As part of the tour you will visit an underground tunnel and former dungeons and barracks.

5.00My wife and I booked the early afternoon walking tour which turned out to be just the two of us, led by Melanie who was absolutely wonderful. She provided us with a detailed historical and cultural background of Puerto Rico, along with numerous stops throughout old San Juan. Melanie was very kind and considerate, guiding us through shaded areas, a spot for drinks and a bathroom break. Highly recommend as part of any visit.

4.00Melanie was very good at what she does. Knowledgeable on her history and delivered well. We had done the large fort before tour so smaller one was underwhelming. Lots of walking with hills and stairs.

5.00Very interesting and informative tour. We saw and learned a lot about San Juan and Puerto Rico. We spent a lot of time in San Cristobal Castle (fort) with a nice walk through Old San Juan after that. Note that street acces to Forteleza (the Governor's Mansion) is blocked for security purposes. However, the street leading to Forteleza is festive with Christmas decorations. A very lively area for sure.
