  Our tour was closer to three hours, not two, but our tour guide, David, was great. I had a really nice time and felt like I got a really good overview of San Juan.. a great way to get some exercise and to learn about the city.

  Tour with David, our guide, began promptly as scheduled at the designated meeting place & was initially carded to be of 2hrs & 15 minutes duration but actually lasted closer to 2 1/2 hrs. That time was fully packed with information & explanations about all things "Old San Juan" as we traversed the cobblestone streets interweaving between the buildings & landmarks of historical & cultural significance. This was excellently conducted by our guide who during the activity welcomed questions from persons in our group, answering all (even those which were not directly related to the actual tour). Would unhesitatingly recommend this activity & specifically, this guide to anyone interested in doing this activity. Additionally, I would suggest the 9:00am start time due to firstly, it having a bit cooler temperature for the walk around the sites. Secondly, it reduces (not eliminate) the chances of encountering other tour groups at the various places of interest and therefore having to wait for them to move along before you can move in to get your pictures, etc. Also, I would definitely suggest participants ensure you wear comfortable walking shoes (sneakers), preferably with non-slip soles, for the activity since some of the cobblestones can be a bit slippery in case of rain on the undulating landscape. Finally, the provision of drinking water by David at the onset of the walk & the availability of washrooms (both free of charge) along the route are also worthy of mention.

  Our tour guide gave us great value for our money! The tour proceeded briskly but not too fast to keep up and he was very conscientious about keeping us all together and cautioning us about incoming cars. We learned a lot about the history of Old San Juan, including the beautiful blue stoned roads (a sad tale, there), the havoc that disease such as smallpox spread to the native peoples when Europeans brought them here, a bit about the cats, and much more! I loved the fact that our tour started at 4:30 and ended at dark. We got to see the sun set over the harbor, and the twinkling city lights at dark and dusk were magical. The fact that it also cooled off as the sun set was another bonus. Highly recommend this tour!

  David was great! The meetup location was easy to get to from Uber/Lyft, and there’s a restroom at the Starbucks if you need to go beforehand. It was a walking tour, but very manageable. David has set points to rest at times when he’s discussing history. Bring a hat, sunscreen, and extra water. David will provide water, but for larger groups would be unreasonable to ask him to carry around 20 bottles :) Overall, 10/10 experience, get to see a wide array of historic, religious, military sites—with history from the 1500s-2000s all mixed in! If you are especially into religious history and Catholicism, this would be a great tour for you as you stop by two historic churches/monasteries.

  David Rodriguez knows his stuff. He's funny and approachable, and makes the history and the buildings come alive. He keeps you in the shade as the tour continues at a relaxed pace. Great experience.

  David was great, he put a lot of thought into the tour route and he is passionate about sharing his knowledge of the city. We were able to learn so much about San Juan’s history. It started raining and David was very patient with our group, helping to find places for us to stay dry. I definitely recommend this tour.

  David did a great job giving detailed insight of San Juan's history. There was a lot of walking and he made sure everyone got needed breaks in between locations.
