This tour is ideal for those who are coming to Bayeux in the morning and wish to visit the medieval town of Bayeux before boarding a guided tour to the D-Day sites. Also to be enjoyed by those already in Bayeux of course!
Beginning at the infamous Omaha Beach, on to the American cemetery and then to Pointe du Hoc.
From the German weapons strong hold of “WN 62” with its unmistakable view of Easy and Fox sectors on Omaha Beach, and the beach exit “D1” of Vierville sur Mer, we will take you back 80 years and relive the history of our liberators.
This is a complete tour, taking you from Omaha Beach to Pointe du Hoc in a four hour tour segment. When you choose this tour, you will undoubtedly understand why Omaha is such a mystical place in the Invasion landings, and will be remembered into eternity as “Bloody Omaha” on June 6th, 1944

Here we will see many WN’s - (wiederstandnest- meaning German weapons strong point emplacements) from Sainte-Honorine-des-Pertes to Vierville.We will visit some of these strong points, which were the better-defended German Positions along Omaha. We will stop at WN 62 and WN 65 in Fox Green and Easy Red sectors of the American landing, and WN 73 in Dog Green at Vierville. This beach assault was a difficult assignment, given to US V Corps (General Gerow) whose Force O was made up of the 1st Infantry Division, 29th Infantry Division, the Rangers and several attached Units.
This Cemetery, extends over 172.5 acres, and is one of fourteen permanent American World War II cemeteries constructed on foreign soil.It contains the remains of 9387 servicemen and women killed for our freedom. The American Cemetery of Colleville conveys an unforgettable feeling of honor, peace and serenity.

5.00I booked half tour for my eighty year old mother and 12 year old daughter and myself to US sector. It was absolutely fascinating - Guilloame explained everything in lots of detail and made everything come to life. We were on a car free holiday to Bayeux. Even if we had had a car, I would still recommend tour as you get so much more info than if travelling independent ly. I would have preferred the trip to take an hour longer which would have given more time at each stop. Sometimes, especially at American cemetery it felt a bit rushed , as there is a lot to see/take in but still highly recommend tour. I do recommend going to see one of the museums before tour as this gives a bit more context. Will definitely do another tour of we come back. My daughter also really enjoyed this vivid history brought to life. Lastly, my deepest thanks and respect to all those mostly young persons who gave their lives for our freedom. It was poignant going on trip at a time when the world still very much at war in many places and feels like a precarious time. We still have so much to learn.

5.00Our tour with Overlord was wonderful. Our guide and driver, Guillaume, was exceptional keeping us informed the entire trip. His knowledge ranged from the bid picture to the smallest details. He was personable and seemed more of an enthusiastic friend than a tour guide.

5.00This was an amazing and poignant afternoon. Our tour guide, Jean DiLasser was very knowledgeable. He shared really interesting details and patiently answered all our varied questions. He always checked that we were able to understand what he'd said (his accent was beautiful). So glad we did this - it was a great way to learn about the D-Day landings.

All of my children were engaged and thought the information presented was both cool history and thought provoking. Thank you!

5.00What an amazing experience. Our group was small - only 5 of us and our guide was spectacular. I wish I could remember his name - his grandfather was a vet and he normally only does full day tour, but did our half day tour. He was so knowledgeable about the history and wove in incredible stories. i have read a great deal about DDay, and seen movies - and yet was blown away by what we saw....the height of the hills the soldiers were trying to climb - the size of the shore - the bunkers in which the Germans were hiding.... The American cemetery was beautiful in its simplicity. Our guide also shared non WWII stories - including one about Walt Disney's family hailing from Isny (d'Isny :). Great tour. Well worth it.

5.00We did the afternoon tour with our excellent guide Thierry, if you are in this area I highly recommend doing this, it’s informative and very moving. For me I went just because I was holidaying in the area but it actually turned out to be one of the highlights of our European trip. Thierry is an excellent story teller, also the minivan was very comfortable!

5.00What an amazing experience. Our guides (durn it I waited too long and I’ve forgotten their names) were so knowledgeable and offered a wealth of information during every moment of the tour. They timed it so we were at the cemetery during taps. As a veteran, this alone was worth the cost. Incredible tour from start to finish - where we drank the cider they recommended before our train back to Paris. I did put a check on my bucket list but I’d do it again with Overlord Tours.
