  What an incredible experience! Antoine, our tour guide, was engaging and knowledgeable. He had a wonderful gift to seamlessly mix the facts and narrative. He knew the territory exceedingly well, made judicious stops along the way to highlight points of interest and picked great stops for lunch and coffee. He answered our questions skillfully and went the extra mile to ensure that we had the experience we desired during our 2 day tour. Again, a great experience, merci!

  As we depart from the Normandy region, my family and I are reflecting on this very moving and immersive experience on this tour. Remy truly brought the miracle that is D-Day to life for us - his recounting of the weather conditions, detailing of the many obstacles faced that night (and day), and personalities of the men who fought here gave the story many more layers than we could have ever imagined. We came into the tour having done a bit of research on our own, and we could never have anticipated how much we would learn from Remy in addition to that. Remy not only answered all of our questions (there were many!), but he also approached the tour with such passion that we felt what a sacred place Normandy is, and this story holds, in the history of the world. We would recommend this to anyone who is curious to learn more about the battle that has shaped history - it’s sobering, reflective, and inspiring. Thank you for your knowledge, passion, and good humor Remy! You really made this come alive for us.

  My family and friends joined our guide, Ollie, for the full day BOB tour and it absolutely exceeded our expectations! Ollie really brought history to life and had everyone on the tour absolutely mesmerized. In our 3 week WWII tour through Europe, this tour was by far our favorite and gave us an entirely new appreciation for all of the brave men and women who fought for our freedoms. We will absolutely be booking Overlord again for future tours!

  As a first time visitor to Europe and France from New Zealand, we had a great experience. Our guide was obviously a history buff (and a former teacher!) who really knew his stuff. It was really good to visit the various areas that was so important to the landings. I follow a lot of history and it was great to see some of these places in person and to get even more detail from our guide. It was great to hear of the artistic licence taken for BoB and seeing some of the historic areas. A long day which certainly didnt feel like it. Thank you for the experience

  What a great tour! Tip #1: Spend a couple of nights in a downtown Bayeux hotel. A nice small town with historical significance and great food. Being late in the season, the four of us ended up having a private tour which allowed us to tailor it toward our desires. Louis (sp) was our tour guide; the tour was fantastic based in no small part on his thoroughness, knowledge, and personality. The details he provided were thoughtful additions; the free time he allowed us in a number of locations was timely and much appreciated. Can’t say enough about how much his personal touch added to our experience. To actually stand on the beaches and battlefields, and in the towns that figured so prominently in the liberation of France and eventually all of Europe makes you that much more appreciative of what the Allies accomplished and the price they paid. I highly recommend this tour to anyone who is looking for an immersive, day-long tour of the D-Day beaches and surrounding battlefields/areas. I challenge anyone to walk away from the U.S. Cemetery overlooking Omaha Beach without being emotionally moved. Well Done!

  Highly recommend this tour. Wonderful tour guides who were extremely knowledgeable, personable and creative in their approach to our tour. Took us to all the sites we were interested in and encouraged lots of questions from the members of our tour group. It was a full day of non-stop learning and fun with our fellow travelers. Had a great group of people.

  Excellent tour guide, Louie who had a vast knowledge of the Nornamdy area. Good pace so we were not overwhelmed, but quick enough so we could see all the sites. The Band of Brothers tour was unique since we had just viewed the series. I would recomment this tour group and Louie B as a guide!

  Excellent tour. Our guide, Oliver, was very knowledgeable and well spoken. He had excellent tips for lunch. He is also an impeccable driver. The van was well maintained and comfortable. The sites were all excellent and matched our expectations.

• Incredible day in Normandy!

  Incredible tour!! Suggest that you take this day 1 in Normandy so that you can determine where you would want to go for the rest of your trip. There is so much to see and do and most folks that we talked to spent 4 days in the area (so did we). The tour was 10 hours and we saw a lot!! There was not a question that our guide could not answer. He was so passionate and informative about every place that he took us to. We highly recommend this tour!

  My wife’s siblings were visiting Paris and the group wanted to visit Normandy. My father-in-law and his brother both served in WWII, the brother coming through Normandy in time to be captured during the Battle of the Bulge. So while the family did not participate in the actual landing itself, many of my wife’s family were intensely interested in the tour. 

We’re a family of nine people and so organizing a day trip from Paris to Normandy and back is, by comparison to D-Day, a minor logistical challenge. I am grateful for the Overlord Tour operators, because they walked me through all the details and logistics to set up a train to Normandy

We arrived in Bayeux by TGV (another thing that everyone wanted to try) and were met by Thierry B. Thierry is a most gracious host, and is extremely knowledgeable about the actions that took place during D-Day. Thierry asked us about grandpa and his brother, and offered to adjust some of the places we would visit to see where they had walked. 

We covered everything mentioned on the website guide: Omaha Beach, Pointe du Hoc, the American Cemetery, Sainte-Mere-Eglise, La Fière - and what was really cool, the La Colombière Hospital. That was a story we had not heard before. Lunch was at a local restaurant and was quite good. An opportunity to taste local Normand cuisine. Overall, everyone was very happy with the tour and with Thierry. We highly recommend this tour and tour operator. 5 stars.
