The one day Akagera wildlife Safari offers the greatest Safari experience one can have. Being one day tour means that we leave Kigali early morning towards Akagera National Park for an estimated 2.5 - 3 hours drive with local expert driver guide by Afri Safaris. Stop by: Akagera National Park, Rwanda Arrival at the park entry and clearing at the park reception. After clearance then you'll be driving in the african bush with an encounter of wildlife in their natural habitat also known as a safari or game drive. Stop by: Lake Mihindi - Lunch break at Lake Mihindi (hot lunch of your choice) Duration: 6 hours in the park (game drive) Drop-off: At your stay in Kigali ( hotel,airport)

5.00We really enjoyed this safari in Akagera National Park. Although we only managed to see only three of the big five (missed the lions and the leopards) and even though there were a few gaps throughout the day without any sightings it was still a very good day trip. Our guide and driver Kevin was very engaging and gave us lots of information about the animals we saw. We also opted for the boat ride in the morning and it was one of our favourite moments at the safari. The weather was very good and it created some amazing landscapes plus we saw lots of animals including a baby crocodile, some black rhinos running away and elephants bathing. We didn't choose the boat ride in advance but instead we communicated with the tour operator that we wanted to do it the day before and we could pay for it ($35 each) at the visitor centre together with the entry fee ($100 each). Lastly, the communication we had with Afri Safaris ahead of the day trip was excellent. They quickly respond to both Viator and Whatsapp messages and they also sent you the sample itinerary! Totally recommend this company!

5.00I had an amazing day exploring Akagera National Park with my guide, Samuel. My tour started in Kigari at 8 a.m. and I spent nearly six hours immersed in the park’s stunning landscapes and wildlife. Thanks to Samuel’s deep knowledge of the park and his sharp eye, I was lucky enough to spot elephants, rhinos, giraffes, zebras, hippos, baboons, impalas—and even lions, albeit from a distance. He knew exactly where to go and positioned the vehicle perfectly at various viewpoints to maximize every wildlife sighting. Samuel’s expertise and calm, friendly demeanor made the entire experience smooth, safe, and incredibly rewarding. Highly recommended for anyone looking to discover the beauty and biodiversity of Akagera!
