Please climb the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory yourself.Walking is about 10 to 15 minutes one way.A paid shuttle bus costs 300 yen one way (paid locally).

Michi-no-Eki - Shirakawago
You can tour the Gassho Museum attached to the roadside station Shirakawago. Take a look at the Gassho-zukuri structure before heading to Shirakawa-go. They also sell many souvenirs. Please note that we will be closed from December 29th to January 1st, so you will have to stop at a different location. *From April 2024, the drop-in time will be 15 minutes.
The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses
The World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go is open for free exploration. Stroll at your own pace and enjoy the countryside at your own pace. A delicious lunch full of mountain delicacies is included. *The total duration of the tour is 2 hours and 50 minutes, including lunch.

4.00We were blessed with good weather and enjoyed it. The tour back to Kanazawa station around 15:45 was perfect because we had to travel to Kansai area on the day. However, the icy snowy roads are slippery and dangerous, so it would have been even better if I had a simple anti-slip or boots ready.

5.00We had the most perfect day. The trip was very well organised and our guide Koruda was excellent, telling us many interesting facts along the way and cracking a few jokes too. The amount of time in both places was sufficient and the weather could not have been better with fresh snow overnight and continual light dry snow while we were walking around. The lunch was excellent with local hida beef, fish and several other small dishes. Would not hesitate to recommend this day trip.

4.00Great way to see both villages and learn about the gassho houses. 2 hours in shirkawa-go and 1 hour in ainoka. Lunch was amazing, time didn’t allow for visit into all the open houses - that’s a draw back. I would have liked another hour. Convenient pick up and drop off at Kanazawa train station.

5.00An excellent tour, planned to provide an insightful experience of the thatched villages visited. the commentary provided during the trip enhanced our understanding of the history, geography and societies we visited...theEnglish language translator was very helpful...there was ample time allowed for independent touring at the locations, and the delicious lunch provided was exceptionally good!

5.00The tour was organized brilliantly -- the guide was informative, offered great tips, kept us on schedule and was very kind and friendly. We had a good amount of time to wander through both towns and the lunch was both a delicious meal and memorable experience.
