Please climb the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory yourself.Walking is about 10 to 15 minutes one way.A paid shuttle bus costs 300 yen one way (paid locally).

Michi-no-Eki - Shirakawago
You can tour the Gassho Museum attached to the roadside station Shirakawago. Take a look at the Gassho-zukuri structure before heading to Shirakawa-go. They also sell many souvenirs. Please note that we will be closed from December 29th to January 1st, so you will have to stop at a different location. *From April 2024, the drop-in time will be 15 minutes.
The Historic Villages of Shirakawa-go Gassho Style Houses
The World Heritage site of Shirakawa-go is open for free exploration. Stroll at your own pace and enjoy the countryside at your own pace. A delicious lunch full of mountain delicacies is included. *The total duration of the tour is 2 hours and 50 minutes, including lunch.

5.00We had an excellent day trip with White Ring Tours. Ms. Kondo and Ms. Kana provided essential history and context, which greatly enhanced our day trip to Shirakawa-go and Gokayama. We also appreciated Mr. Matsushita's expert driving, whose professionalism and care made the journey especially comfortable and enjoyable. The lunch was delicious, everything was so well organized from start to finish, and ample time was given to explore the villages at a relaxed pace.

5.00Absolutely stunning! Even through the drizzle, the beauty of the landscapes and thatch-roofed architecture was amazing. Our guide was great, seamlessly commentating in Japanese and English while on the bus. Funny, too!

5.00We really enjoyed our day trip to the two UNESCO villages. The friendly and professional guide spoke English and gave us a lot of good information and yet walked around the villages independently which we preferred. I wouldn't say the lunch was exceptional, but I'm picky

5.00A great experience. Perfectly timed to allow us to walk up to the Observatory and then to the opposite end of the village in Shirakawa-go. Enjoyed a traditional lunch - very tasty including beef and trout - and finally, a leisurely stroll through Gokayama - so calm and tranquil. Comfortable bus and we both actually appreciated the sights both urban and rural on the route as a bonus. The highlight in some ways was our wonderful guide, Kuroda. Excellent English, wry sense of humour which kept us amused, enough commentary without being overwhelming and allowing us to go off to discover the 2 places in our own way. We cannot thank him enough. Arigato gozaimasu.

5.00Awesome tour of Gokyama and Shirakawa-go! Loved that information was provided on the bus and we could be on our own schedule to explore these villages. The lunch provided was the best I’ve ever had on a bus tour! Our bus to catch the tour was delayed and we really appreciated that our guides waited 5 minutes for us. Thanks for an awesome day!
