Please climb the Ogimachi Castle Ruins Observatory yourself.Walking is about 10 to 15 minutes one way.A paid shuttle bus costs 300 yen one way (paid locally).

Michi-no-Eki - Shirakawago
You can visit the Gassho Museum attached to the Shirakawa-go Roadside Station. Please take a look at the Gassho-style structure before going to Shirakawa-go. There are also many souvenirs for sale. Please note that the museum is closed from December 29th to January 1st, so you will have to stop by another place.

5.00This was a great experience. Our guide shared interesting information at parts during the bus ride and the tour allowed the perfect amount of time to explore both areas. Both the guide and interpreter was very welcoming and friendly.

5.00A fantastic day discovering Shirakawa go and Takeyama. The bus ride into the mountains was smooth and incredibly scenic and our guide, Kana was very friendly and informative . We are definitely going back . We can highly recommend this tour.

5.00Our guide was an amazing tour guide. She made an all day tour relaxing, engaging and memorable. Her in-depth knowledge was matched by her sense of humour. Highly recommend if you are looking for a fully organised, stress free orientation of Shirakawa-go and takayama.

5.00Today's tour was definitely worth it! Shirakawa-go is very beautiful, especially during Sakura season. The traditional Japanese lunch provided was tasty!

5.00It was a wonderful tour with nice weather in the cherry blossom season. After enjoying the World Heritage Site, I am very satisfied to visit Hida Takayama. The tour was good but I really appreciate the knowledge and consideration of the wonderful tour guide driver. It was a very good encounter and trip. We look forward to another opportunity.
Nice tour, but not quite as good as we expected

3.00We were really excited about visiting Shirakawago based on the photos - we thought the whole village only had the thatched roof homes. However, the reality is that it is a mix of these thatched homes and a lot of modern homes as well, which dilutes the quaint atmosphere. It was still nice to walk through the village, but not as good as we had hoped. The photos are a bit misleading. Takayama also was ok, but not great. Again, I had expected a small village, but it is a fairly large town with one small area consisting of a few streets that are old style. Again, it was nice walking through the area, but honestly, we liked walking along the river lined with a few cherry blossoms more interesting. The lunch was quite disappointing as well - at least for us being vegetarians. They did not have vegetarian sobu noodles, so the lunch was not filling and we ended up getting some more food when we walked through Takayama. The guide was very nice, but he did not join us either in Shirakawago or Takayama - he simply gave us maps and pointed out the interesting areas to visit and left us to explore on our own. This has its pros and cons - we explored at our own pace, but we did not really learn much about the town other than what he shared on the bus.

5.00Typical lunch very good. There is enough time to visit both places. The roads travelled are also good for those suffering from car sickness. Ask maybe to sit in the front seats
