The full day package offers 3 tours. Starting with the Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve where we are going to spend part of the morning Hiking on those beautiful and accessible trails, we will go in search of plants, orchids, birds and some mammals. Then we will have time to enjoy our lunch in Santa Elena Town where we will be happy to taste our traditional food as part of our culture. Later we will visit a different type of ecosystem at the top of the trees hiking on the Hanging Bridges, here we will go above the trees to percieved the beautiful dense forest surrounded by fresh air and sometimes by the clouds. After these Reserves we will continue with the Night Walk where we will have many eyes on us from all those animals found in the dark. All these tours with the best attention you can have.

This was an excellent private guided tour. Our guide Juan Cano was very knowledgeable about all the birds, animals, and nature, and made this an amazing day for us. This is much better than the larger guided tours we did- since it was just us we had more time to see and learn about everything. You should definitely request Juan as he was a great guide.

Our family of five spent a day with Dennis in Monte Verde and it was a highlight of our entire trip in Costa Rica. Cannot recommend his tour enough, we had three teenagers and two adults and absolutely loved every minute. Quetzal, toucan, howler monkeys, and many many more unique creatures. A great way to get a broad nature experience in Monteverde, book it now

I cannot recommend the full day tour with Dennis enough!! Our whole family enjoyed our time with him. Dennis is incredibly knowledgeable about all of the animals and plants in Costa Rica - there was not a single question we asked he could not answer. But he also volunteered so much information we never even thought to ask for. Also he is amazing at spotting wildlife - there is not a single animal we saw with him that we would have spotted on our own. On top of all this Dennis is just a wonderful person, so friendly and engaging. His enthusiasm for the wildlife we were seeing was contagious. He also took so many pictures of wildlife and our family for us (this alone is worth the price). He also gave us recommendations for the rest of our time here, including making our zip lining reservation for us and giving us links to restaurants in the next town we are staying in. We highly recommend this trip!!

I would recommend Dennis 100% for this tour. Dennis is knowledgeable, professional, dependable, personable, and kind. Dennis went above and beyond to help us find wildlife. He met us at the time we agreed upon. One of our group had surgery recently and he helped her on some of the terrain. He listened to our wants and adjusted the day based on our desires. The day was memorable and I believe Dennis was mostly responsible for making it so.

We had a fabulous day with Dennis. We were 5 older women and he was able to accommodate all of our needs. We saw a great variety of wildlife and enjoyed a wonderful coffee experience and lunch. Dennis is very personable and knowledgeable. He is proud of his country and seems to enjoy sharing his amazing home with others. All five of us would recommend that you use Dennis as a guide if you really want a great experience in Costa Rica.

This one day of nature tour was an amazing opportunity to spend a full day and into the early evening with Dennis Fernández! He picked us up from our hotel and drove us to each site for the day. Dennis has an incredibly friendly attitude and clearly enjoyed teaching my husband and me all about the flora and fauna, the history of the area being settled and how the Monteverde area in general became a biological preserve. The camera and equipment Dennis used allowed us to see everything close up in amazing detail. All the guides help each other out when animals are seen, making the atmosphere in these beautiful parks even more enjoyable for everyone. What an amazing day!! This tour with Dennis was simply a treasure. A most pleasant day of walking through different areas in one of the most beautiful spots in Costa Rica, with Dennis generously sharing his knowledge. One the the best experiences we've ever had!

Dennis went far and beyond to provide my friend and I a very memorable experience throughout Monteverde. I appreciated the many trails we took through deep forest and into the mountains to many scenic spots. With his great experience with animals, Dennis was able to spot many creatures, some very rare, which provided us with incredible experiences to view them with our naked eyes and up close with his excellent spotting gear. We were picked up and dropped off at our hotel and we got to experience a beautiful sunset as a bonus. We were provided with amazing insights on the forests of Monteverde throughout the day and into the night and Dennis was always kind, courteous, prompt, and professional every step of the way. Truly a magical experience, highly recommended! Muchas gracias Dennis! Pura vida!

Just 5 hours away on a plane from the US North East, high on a mist-covered mountaintop kissed by passing low hanging clouds lies one of the planet's most biodiverse regions - the Monteverde Cloud Forest - a Shangrila - replete with guide extraordinaire Dennis Fernandez on call and waiting to show you round his enchanting, Edenic neck of the woods. A bilingual native son with a passion for nature, birding (raptors especially) and photography (you can see his fabulous work on instagram), Dennis is the ultimate field guide - naturalist - birding enthusiast - photography instructor - professional photographer and the physical embodiment of the Costa Rican's saying: "Pura Vida". Without Dennis, our one and only day in Monteverde would have not been quite so rich and rewarding. To make the most of our very short time in the region, we opted to take a full day package with Dennis that included visits to The Monteverde Cloud Forest Bioreserve, Curi Cancha and a night walk through a local wildlife refuge. Although not inexpensive the package was definitely worth every penny, as it included admission to each of the sites we visited, transportation between them, and access to Dennis's encyclopedic knowledge of the area, his photography skills and of course his friendly companionship for the duration. Dennis was punctual, professional, warm, engaging, and impressively knowledgeable, pointing out so many endemic creatures hiding in plain sight, as well as several cleverly camouflaged, and identifying a lot of the incredible tropical botanical specimens we came across. He brought with him a powerful birding field telescope and tripod which enhanced our view wildlife, and also enabled cellphone photography - so if you didn't have a fancy camera with a long lens, you would still have pretty amazing photos to share with friends and family at the end of the trip. And of course that scope and powerful flashlights accompanied us on our night walk as well. Below are some of the pictures from our day & evening with Dennis. It was our first time in Costa Rica, and we were on the ground for a total of 5 short days, visiting Monteverde soon after landing. It was definitely the highlight of our trip. We hope to return to explore some more of Monteverde and other parts of Costa Rica too with our new friend and guide Dennis, who it turns out also organizes and leads tours in other parts of the country!
