When you book with Namba Food Tours, get ready to explore one of Osaka’s most iconic neighborhoods like a true local. You’ll meet your friendly guide at Exit 18 of Namba Station, where your foodie adventure begins. Over the next few hours, we’ll take you to 5 handpicked local spots, each focusing on a different style of Japanese comfort food, think sizzling takoyaki, crispy kushikatsu, rich nikudofu, handmade gyoza, and more. We space out the stops so you have time to stroll, digest, and see the real Namba, from buzzing neon-lit streets to quiet local alleys. Along the way, you’ll learn about Osaka’s history, culture, and nightlife, and see how locals really live. We always finish on a sweet note with dessert, and if you’re up for it, maybe one last drink. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth in Japan, this is the tasty, off-the-beaten-path food tour you’ve been hungry for. Just bring your appetite and a sense of adventure!

Sennichimae

Sennichimae sits just east of Dotonbori and feels like classic Minami: bright signs, game arcades, ramen joints, and kushikatsu spots packed into a few lively blocks. It can get busy along the main drag, so we’ll dip into the side alleys around it for the good stuff. That is where you find tiny izakayas, takoyaki stands with short lines, and a few old-school bars that locals actually use. We will weave the backstreets, pop out for a quick look at the neon, then slide back into quieter lanes before the crowd carries us along. Think snack-sized stops, a couple photos, and room to breathe. If you like kitchenware or knives, we can angle toward Doguyasuji (Kitchen street) nearby for a peek, then loop back through the calmer passages to our next stop.

Multiple food tastings at 5 authentic local eateries. The dishes change nightly but expect takoyaki, kushikatsu, udon, karaage, dessert, and more! Come Hungry, Leave Happy.

We do not do Hotel pickups on our Food Tours. They are however available through our private tours, just send us a message to organise.

I had such a fun time on my tour with Kevin . We had some great food at places I wouldn't have found on my own. Him speaking Japanese definitely helped us out . Learned some stuff and laughed alot. Highly recommended tour . Thanks Kevin !

The host Kevin was amazing and super knowledgeable 10/10 would definitely do this tour again.. in fact I was there for a couple weeks so I did it twice. You get to see some amazing cultural spots/customs off the beaten path. Thanks again guys!

Had a fantastic tour! Our guide brought us to great spots to eat, and gave us a lot of insight into both the meals and the area. Very knowledgeable guide and made the whole group feel welcome. Could not recommend this tour enough and have already shared it with a friend coming in a few months!

Had such a great time on this food tour in Osaka. Our guide was super friendly, and knowledgeable about both the food and the area. He made everyone excited to try all the different types of dishes. The udon noodles with tofu and the takoyaki were the highlights. It was the perfect mix of things to try, we enjoyed visiting local favourites, and our group of friends had an absolute blast. Absolutely recommend this tour — 10/10!

What an amazing night! The guide was very informative and funny. He took us to lots of little off the map places. I had the best udon of my life. To say I was full at the end is an understatement. Also so much info about what to do and where to go in Osaka. A great first night in town that I would highly recommend. Thanks so much for taking care of us 🙏

Amazing experience!!! The tour guide was awesome. They took us to a bunch of places that I would never have found or eaten at myself. There was heaps of food and they were super informative about the history of the area and the local food. I would highly recommend this is anyone going to Osaka as a must do tour.

As someone who has been on quite a few food tours I have to say this was a fantastic experience! The food was great, our tour guide was awesome and the night ran really well! We stopped at a heap of locations and there was plenty of food to go around 10/10!

Such a fun tour! Kevin was the perfect mix of fun and knowledgeable! Made everyone feel comfortable. Learnt heaps while trying lots of local food. Such a great experience for friends travelling together. He took us to local places we wouldn’t have been able to find as a tourist!
