  Edvard Munch was a prolific artist and this unique building houses multiple floors to display his works. The higher floors also offered unparalleled views of Oslo’s city center. It was easy entrance as we had prepaid tickets through TripAdvisor, which were emailed to us the night before. The staff were friendly. Be aware that no backpacks or water bottles are allowed. However, there are free lockers to put these items into if necessary.

• Bold, striking and culturally rich. Just as Art should be.

  The collection itself is fascinating, especially seeing multiple versions of The Scream and getting such a deep insight into Edvard Munch’s life and work, but at times the museum can feel a little vast, clinical and overwhelming. Some areas are exceptional, while others feel more niche or academic depending on your level of interest in modern art. The building and waterfront views are fantastic, and there’s definitely a sense of importance to the place, but compared to some of Oslo’s more immersive or atmospheric experiences, it perhaps felt slightly less personal or emotionally engaging throughout.   The visit to this museum is highly recommended, although there were some closed exhibitions. Munch's artwork is amazing and the museum itself is very enjoyable. It is quite curious the way you can watch the 3 versions of "The Scream".

  Had a lovely couple of hours around the museum. Started with a cocktail and snack at the skybar and then worked my way down. Saw lots of different exhibits and obviously made sure I saw the scream, his most famous work. Finished off with another drink and slice of cake at the ground floor cafe and bought some souvenirs from the gift shop.

  the Oslo MUNCH leaves a very positive overall impression, both inside and out. The building is modern, iconic, perhaps discussed, but personally convincing: it stands out and gives identity to the waterfront. The interiors are well organized, with large spaces and a clear narrative. However, beyond The Scream's famous work, the rest of the journey is less memorable. More than just individual iconic masterpieces, the museum seems to be built to fully tell the story of Edvard Munch’s universe, with many works and variations on the theme. In the end, the feeling of a solid and well-made museum remains, stronger as an overall experience than for the presence of so many “unforgettable” works. A place that works, even if dominated by a single truly iconic image.

  Very expensive ticket. Was almost 30 eur difference for 2 people compared to the prices through the museum itself
