Please note that from Apr-Aug this tour is 4-4.5 hours long and we visit 3 islands. From Sep-Mar, this tour is 3-3.5 hours and we visit 2 or 3 islands depending on the weather and the boat schedule.
Discover the majestic islands of the Oslofjord, hopping on and off ferries to hike the forests, cliffs, charming villages and historic sites of 2-3 islands (season dependant). With a local guide, explore the ruins of a 900 year old abbey, picnic on a cosy beach (Oct-Mar, a small stop with hot drinks will be provided) and stroll through a village of colourful wooden cabins and flower-lined paths. The stunning views of Oslo and its hills provide a scenic backdrop, with photo spots at every turn. Don't forget a swim suit in the Summer months to bathe in the surprisingly warm waters of the Oslo fjord! Time for a picnic is included and participants are encouraged to bring their own lunch. Good walking shoes or trail shoes are recommended as the hiking is done on dirt paths, gravel and stones.

We went to 2 islands; the first emphasized Norwegian culture and second, history. It was well narrated by our guide.

We enjoyed the tours on these small close by islands. It was a nice, easy walk and our guide told good stories and info along the way. No tourists but us. It was a great, leisurely way to spend our time. Especially since our cruise was a lot of port days.

Lovely tour. It only takes 7 minutes between islands and is mostly a tour on the islands This suited us well as we love to explore, if you're in the mood for more time on a boat then this wouldn't be the experience for you. With this in mind, I'd recommend this tour as it was really good fun. Both our guides were great Jon and Alysia both had a lot of knowledge and kept the tour engaging all the way through sharing knowledge about the island from medieval period through to today. They also brought hot drinks and biscuits to enjoy for everyone which made the break special.

The islands were interesting and the autumn atmosphere was stunning but I think that it is better to buy a ticket for the ferry and do the walk on your own without the guide. You only pay for the guide who simply buy the tickets for the ferry for the whole group and then you walk together. The information was quite interesting, but there was very little of it and nothing what you couldn't find yourself. The guide was very friendly so I am realy sorry to say that it is not worth the money.

Enjoyed this tour. Our guide, Patrick, was very informative. He was able to answer any question we had about the unique Norwegian history and led a good tour. The weather wasn’t great, raining for a decent amount of the tour, and I found the pace of the tour to be a little slow. However, the tour was catering to many different people with different abilities.

Lovely walk through Lindøya and Hovedøya Island. Viewed the Monastery ruins and the canons. The guide was very knowledgeable about the islands and their role in Norwegian history. The pace of the tour was moderate, which is a bit slower than my liking. (Hence the 4/5). The ferry ride was excellent. One of the smoothest rides I’ve been on. hardly felt the ferry moving.
