The adventure begins at Marangu Gate, where you will register and meet your guide. From there, you will embark on a 7 km trek through a lush rainforest, rich with diverse flora and fauna. As you ascend from 1830 m (6000 ft) to 2740 m (9000 ft), you’ll enjoy the sounds of the forest and the chance to spot unique wildlife. After approximately 4 to 5 hours of hiking, you will arrive at Mandara Hut, your accommodation for the night, where you can relax and prepare for the next day’s journey

After a hearty breakfast, you will set off for Horombo Hut, located at an elevation of 3690 m (12,100 ft). The trek covers 11 km and takes about 6 to 8 hours, transitioning from the lush rainforest to the more open moorland. The change in scenery offers breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro and the surrounding landscape. Upon reaching Horombo Huts, you’ll have time to rest, acclimatize to the altitude, and enjoy the beautiful surroundings before settling in for the night.

Today’s trek takes you from Horombo Huts to Kibo Huts, covering a distance of 10 km over 6 to 8 hours. As you ascend from 3690 m (12,100 ft) to 4695 m (15,400 ft), the landscape shifts to a semi-desert terrain, characterized by fewer plants and rocky paths. This part of the journey showcases the stark beauty of Kilimanjaro. Upon arrival at Kibo Huts, you’ll have the opportunity to rest and prepare for the challenging summit attempt ahead.
Kibo Huts to Summit and Descent to Horombo Huts

The highlight of your trek occurs today as you make your summit attempt. Departing from Kibo Huts in the early hours, you will ascend the final 4 km (2.5 mi) to Uhuru Peak, reaching an elevation of 5895 m (19,340 ft). This challenging hike, taking 5 to 7 hours, is rewarded with stunning views at dawn. After celebrating your achievement at the summit, you will begin your descent, covering 14 km (9 mi) back to Horombo Huts in approximately 5 to 6 hours, where you can rest after a long and rewarding day.
Horombo Huts to Marangu Gate – Moshi

On your final day, you will trek from Horombo Huts back to Marangu Gate, covering a distance of 18 km (11 mi) over 6 to 7 hours. The descent takes you through the beautiful rainforest, providing a serene end to your journey. As you descend from 3690 m (12,100 ft) to 1830 m (6000 ft), you’ll have opportunities to spot wildlife and enjoy the lush greenery. Upon reaching the gate, you will conclude your trek and be transferred to Moshi, where you can celebrate your accomplishment and relax in comfort.

5.00As a group of 24 friends, I do believe we had the most amazing time scaling Kili. Our guides included Victor, Thomas, Noah, Gabriel, Samson and our servers included Jackson and his crew. We were very well looked after and I know I speak for my fellow climbers when I say these gentlemen made our trek all the more manageable and enjoyable. We did the Marangu Route. 5.00My wife and I just had great 6 days Marangu Kilimanjaro hiking with Africa Natural Tours. We were very nervous and anxious about the trekking because we are just regular mid age people. But Godfrey (managed director) sets up the best supporting team for us. Our guides (Haji and Goodluck), cook (Wilson) and 6 porters (Casto and others) were absolutely amazing and willing to do everything they can to help us out. With carrying very minimal or no luggage we were able to fulfill our dream and got to Gillman’s point. Haji and Goodluck were extremely patient with us and always kept us going at slow but steady pace (pole, pole). With their excellent professionalism we had an amazing Kilimanjaro trekking experience.

5.00I'll try in two words. Decided to climb. I looked at the offers of Russian tour operators. PRICES (not available to me)!!! She decided to look for companies in Moshi and came across Africa Natural Tours & Safari. 1. Prices are quite reasonable 2. professional team 3. 100% safety 4. Punctuality (everything is clear as in a pharmacy) 5. no underwater stones I'm happy to have climbed with Africa Natural Tours & Safari. The result exceeded my expectations.
Cannot recommend these guys enough.

5.00I am so happy I went with these guys for my climb. I was nervous traveling alone but they made me feel so comfortable, safe and well looked after. The support from the guides the whole way was incredible and they constantly checked to make sure I was happy, eating , needed anything etc. It was my birthday and they surprised me with a cake and all sang happy birthday to me . I was so touched by this .

5.00I had the most amazing crew and guide (Budah) when I went to Uhuru peak. Felt so much joy and the whole team was super professional. Especially, I‘m glad they didnt complain when i shortened my hike to only 2 nights until the summit. My guide Budah had great english understanding and oral skills, was very fit and was perfect all in all. Also thanks to Mr. wilson i got always good food and without the 3 porters Kisa, Ruwa and Jesse I couldn‘t have a better trip! Thanks Godfrey, the manager of the company! So great to chose this company.

5.00This is to show the world how excited my girlfriend and I were to be on top of Mountain Kilimanjaro. We choose African natural tours because our friend recommended them to us and by reading their reviews we knew we were in the best hands. Elisha did so well to help up us reach the top and of course he chose the best porters for us because we had some little luggage. We highly recommend African natural tours
