Your experience takes place in Vieques, an offshore island in Puerto Rico. You will need to arrive at the island of Vieques from the mainland by ferry or airplane, and you will need to stay in Vieques overnight as it will not be possible for you to return to the mainland the same day.

Enjoy this Vieques Bio Bay tour from a kayak. You will experience the brightest Bio Bay in the world. You will be provided with a kayak and all the equipment you need, including a certified tour guide.

Meet your group 10 Minutes before your TOUR START HOUR AT THE GAZEBO in front of Tradewinds Restaurant. After that, board your bus to the Bioluminescent Bay. Remember that you will need to sleep in Vieques for this activity. Wind through the mangrove canals and out to the edge of the sea by kayak. Beach your kayak and explore the beach as the sun sets. At dusk, launch your kayak back into the final rays of the sun. Paddle back in as the twilight deepens, reaching the inner lagoon just as the increasing darkness allows the stars to shine. The darker it becomes, the more the Bio Bay glows and sparkles with every touch of your paddle in the water. You will learn many of the secrets of this complex ecosystem from your knowledgeable and experienced guide.

Slow, but your guides worked hard. Even though there was a full moon we were able see the bioluminescent bay!

The pick up was 45 min late and at the end we had to go back to house and sit in the van while the staff cleaned the equipment opposed to dropping us off first. Spots of the water were great but it was very spotty. The person leading the tour was polite and informational.

The tour guide dilon was very friendly..we were not expert kayakers and were worried kayaking in the dark but he was super helpful and stayed close to us and made sure we did it right. He explained about the phenomenon and why it happens at the center. They pickedd us up on time and dropped us back on time. The tour lasted for.abput an hour and was worth it.

Guide is very helpful , we did not know kayaking or swimming he tied his about with our boat shown us everything , strongly recommond this and guide is very useful and gave good information and friendly talking

We did not do the tour. We purchased tickets for 7pm. I received a text that the tour was not until 8:30. Which interrupted other plans. We arrived at 8:30 to sit another 30 mins. The “tour guide” showed up at night with dark glasses on. Slurring his words. We felt very uncomfortable. You expect the person who will be guiding you in the dark in kayaks to be at their best. We chose for our safety to not take the tour. We came to vieques just for this tour.

The bio Bay was magical and enchanting. Totally worth the money and the time. The company did not live up to our expectations in service. The bus they used to get you from the meeting point to the Bay has no AC or windows. The chairs are pretty beat up and with no interior lights, which can be complicated with little kids. The road to the Bay can be a little rough for some, but can be exciting for the kids, since you are riding through mud for 5 to 10 minutes. Yo the to the water, you have to walk through deep mud while barefoot. This could be too much for some. But if you'd made it this far, you get to enjoy paradise, specially if you can go on a night without a full moon.
Great Experience! Dion, made sure we not only had a great time, but also had more knowledge about the bio bay.

My cousin and I went on the Bio Bay Kayak Tour on May 28 and had a wonderful time. Our guide, Dion, was extremely knowledgeable and made sure that we were safe and well taken care of. He shared his love of Vieques Island and his passion for the environment encompassing the bio-luminescent bay. This was not a job for him, but a way of life and he wants others to care as much as he does. We were very moved by the experience and had a great time.
