The Pacaya Volcano is one of the most active volcanoes in Guatemala, with a height of approximately 2,500 meters above sea level. The environment is made up of wet forests and rocks. It has stunning views of the Calderas Lagoon which we visit from the seat of our ATVs and three other volcanoes: Agua, Fuego, and Acatenango. On our unique Adventure we will take ATVs from San Vicente Pacaya to various areas near and around the Pacaya Volcano. We will go on various trails to some of the villages located at the base of the volcano, where we are able to hike up the side of the volcano on top of the petrified lava flow as high as you are able to go. Throughout the tour we will be able to admire different views of the volcanoes and drive through some of the villages. We will drive through different off road trails, and we will even take some time to drive on the volcanic sand and lava fields inside of a private plantation.
We DO NOT go to the San Vicente Pacaya National park.

You are unable to book a reservation only with a passenger rate; you must have a driver rate as well.
We recommend wearing closed shoes instead of sandals for a more comfortable experience on the rugged terrain
Youth with drivers license can drive their own ATV but have to book as an adult

San Vicente Pacaya
Experience adventure on one of the most active volcanoes in Guatemala! This unique ATV tour takes you around the stunning surroundings of Pacaya Volcano, through trails, lush forests, and petrified lava fields. We start in San Vicente Pacaya and explore various areas around the volcano. Enjoy breathtaking views of the Calderas Lagoon. You’ll also ride through off-road trails and a private plantation with spectacular volcanic landscapes. Important: We do not enter the San Vicente Pacaya National Park. Includes: transportation, bilingual guide, ATV, entrance fees, and snacks (water, Gatorade, chocolate, cookies, chips, and a sandwich). Recommendation: Wear closed-toe shoes for a more comfortable experience.

5.00This is another activity that I would consider to be an absolute must if you could only do like two. We had a very large group and it included multiple families with little kids, 20 something’s, and all the way up to an elderly lady who was riding solo - everyone had a good time and nobody was struggling. The team did a great job leading and explaining. Few notes: - you will get very dusty and that volcanic ash will get everywhere, so bring a windbreaker, sunglasses, and even a face mask or a balaclava - we didn’t have it but some people in our group did and I wished we had ours, - you will do a lot of ATVing going between different fields, and then to a lake. - You will ride on the paved roads, on the unpaved roads, and off road - if you like ATVs, this is the trip for you. And if you can, ride solo - it’s more fun and easier to get up some of the inclines, - if you have never drove an ATV, don’t worry - again, we had an elderly lady in our group riding solo and she did just fine, - you get a sandwich and two drinks (a bottle of water and a bottle of Gatorade) with your trip and we found it enough for the full day of riding. This trip is definitely one of the highlights of our stay in Antigua. You see a lot, you ride a lot, the team instructs and guides well. A must.

5.00Excellent day long trip to Pacaya. Wonderful guides & easy to operate ATVs. Super organized, easy terrain to navigate and tasty lunch and snacks. Pacaya is well worth the visit if you have a day free. The bus ride to the volcano was very comfortable, and the ride was very scenic. Wonderful to travel through local small villages and experience the warm culture first-hand. In many ways this was even more interesting that the ATV experience as wonderful as it was! Highly recommend!

5.00Tour is very well organized, staring from a lunch bag which was sweet and included everything needed for the day, and finishing with the attentive tour guide. Our guide was Estuardo and he gave us very good instruction before each different road type. I felt safe and confident, and that let me enjoy the rest of the tour without worrying. Ride is quite long, with different types of trails - through villages, woods, volcano trails - and that was sooo exciting as until now I had only limited area ATV rides which were kind of boring as it didn’t feel natural. This one is much different and I loved it. Sights and locations you can cover within the experience are massive, so very well recommended. We loved it. Thanks to Estuardo, as he really was the main peace of the whole adventure!

4.00My 1st ATV ride so wasn’t sure what to expect. Didn’t realize I would be driving thru so many terrains while viewing the volcano. Definitely added to the experience. Lester and the local guide were very patient with my cautious driving. They provided clear instructions and with safety in mind. The views of the volcano were stunning. The lava walk was crunchy and more scenic than other walks taken in Hawaii. Good traction shoes are definitely recommended to go longer distances. There was an unfortunate incident with some locals, but Lester came to my rescue and took excellent care of me. Was fun to shake the dust off after this adventure. Going on a 2nd excursion with this company since this experience was so fun.

4.00Really enjoyed the Pacaya Volcano ATV tour. Our guides were terrific! While I wouldn't consider this to be a difficult trek, it's probably best you have some ATV/MC experience as some of the trails are beyond novice in my opinion. You will also want to wear sturdy shoes for hiking across the lava fields.
