Palo Verde National Park

A 2 hour boat safari on the Tempisque River bordering Palo Verde National Park viewing a vast array of wildlife such as iguanas, crocodiles, monkeys, and many species of birds. This tour is a real treat for bird watchers, as you’ll have the chance of spotting a wide range of fowl that includes storks, egrets, spoonbills, grebes and more. After your boat trip, you will be taken to eat a plentiful Costa Rican style dish called ‘casado’ with rice, beans, salad, plantains, choice of meat, and more. Dietary restrictions can be accommodated.

The guides on the cruise gave a lot of information regarding the wildlife surrounding the river banks; especially the crocodiles, monkeys, and bats. The roundtrip transportation to Palo Verdae was good and our driver Yami stuck with us during the excursion and forwarded photos she took during the River cruise to us.

“Goose” our guide was very knowledgeable regarding birds, reptiles, monkeys etc He was entertaining with lots of costa Rican history. His driver Victor was helpful and very experienced behind the wheel. The Costa Rican lunch we had at a local family restaurant was colourful and so delicious and there was lots to eat. Our group of four thoroughly enjoyed ourselves thanks to Our wonderful guide and driver. I also must give credit to our boat driver who also had an experienced eye to spot wild life
