After pick up from hotel or accommodation in Panama City, we would take you to an observation area where we will explain you about the history and how the Panama Canal works.
Gatun Lake
After seeing a ship go through the locks, we will continue by car to the Chagres River where we will then get off the car and begin a boat tour in the Gatun Lake. At this point you will be inside the Panama Canal passing beside the ships in transit from one ocean to the other. During this boat tour in Gatun Lake you will be surrounded by the rainforest of the Soberania National Park, where we will spot monkeys and other wild animals.

5.00The experience was amazing from start to finish. We really enjoyed the Channel tour watching a boat cross, and then the walk on Gatun Lake was an unforgettable experience. Caesar was our guide and accompanied us at all times telling us the history of the place and many curious things. More than recommended

5.00Dan was absolutely fantastic!! During the ride, he explained the history of Panama in depth! He made sure to get us to miraflores early, got us the best spots to see the boats going through the canal, and made sure we had an amazing time at monkey island. We saw 3 different monkeys, an iguana, and bats!

5.00The tour was exactly as described. Our guide, D, was so informative. His years of experience helped us truly understand the workings of the canal. Additionally, seeing the monkeys in their natural habitat was amazing. Everything about this excursion was fun and fascinating.

5.00We enjoyed seeing the canal up close and getting the rich history of the building and opening of the canal. The boat ride in the canal was like icing on the cake. Beautiful and peaceful journey on the lake.

5.00The MiraFlores locks visitor center is very interesting and great to see both the movie and to experience a boat going through the lock. But the boat trip is even better. Even though it rained on our trip, it was a wonderful experience to share the shipping lane with the big boats and then to go to some of the islands and view the monkeys. Dan took good care of us and made sure we got a good viewing spot at the visitor center as well as ensuring we saw all the different types of monkeys and got up close with some of the big boats in the canal channels.

5.00We loved this tour! Our driver Fernando was wonderful. He was so friendly and knowledgeable. The tour was so amazing- we were able to see three different species of monkeys (close up), bats, a deer and a giant iguana. And Fernando was so kind on the Panama Canal tour. He answered all our questions and made sure we had everything we needed.

5.00I am revising my review of this tour as the trip to the Panama Canal was excellent with the driver arriving on time, transporting us to the lock and being professional and helpful. Unfortunately the trip to Gatun Lake was cancelled due to an issue at the lake which was beyond the operators' control. We were told that we would receive a partial refund within 3-5 days. After not receiving the refund, I had written a less than favorable review, but have since retracted that as the refund has now been received and Safe Transportation explained that they had issued it immediately, but because we bought through a reseller (TA/Viator) the delay was not caused by them. Lesson learned to always try and book directly.

5.00Ricardo is a great guide. He showed us everything we wanted to see, answered all of our questions and was generally very helpful and congenial. As seniors, we appreciated having tickets in advance so we didn't have to wait in line. We also greatly enjoyed our time on the lake with the big ships. The antics of the monkeys were delightful and the boat captain was a Monkey Whisperer. We will highly recommend Ricardo and this particular excursion to friends coming in January.
