The tour aims to introduce you to the city of Papeete and a part of the island of Tahiti, with a special focus on local life, history, and Polynesian culture. Your Polynesian guide's knowledge and personal history make this a unique and personalized experience.
You will visit places few visitors have the opportunity to see and will have time to soak up the atmosphere. A few unusual viewpoints are also included in the tour.
The tour of Papeete itself will last approximately one hour, followed by a two-hour exploration of either the eastern or western part of the urban area surrounding Papeete. This area stretches from the town of Mahina to Paea and is full of diverse sites that will transport you to a part of Tahiti's rich facets.

4.00The historical and cultural tour of Papeete has been interesting but it should be noted that it covers only part of Tahiti and must be complemented by visits to other parts of the large and small island. I was lucky enough to be the only client and to have the guide, Christian Shan Sei Fan, to myself. This privileged moment and the long conversations with him were invaluable and allowed me to understand the issues of Tahitian society.

5.00You will have the best, most knowledgeable guide and safe driver! We enjoyed the tour even though we did not get to visit the market - my reason for taking the tour! It was closed for cleaning-I would have appreciated knowing this ahead of time.
This man really knows how to bring history to life and we highly recommend his services.

He was exceedingly knowledgeable about both the past and present and showed us a number of different spots on the island to bring his narrative to life. Christian makes the fourth Viator presentation that has totally exceeded our expectations and that is so rare in today’s travel selections. We wholeheartedly recommend Christian as an interesting, well informed, easy to understand host and join his other former clients in their effusive praise and great memories.

5.00We had the pleasure of meeting Christian, a local Tahitian, on our last day in Papeete. He gave us a private tour of scenic places in Papeete that tourists don't usually go to, providing current and historical information about them. En route to other locations, he talked about his own personal history and provided interesting stories about his late relatives. At Marae Ta'ata, he gave more insight into life in ancient Tahiti and pointed out the flora and fauna that were there. At the conclusion of our afternoon tour, Christian dropped us off at the Intercontinental Resort (his suggestion for us). We enjoyed a drink at the bar and watched the beautiful sunset over Moorea island before heading to the airport for our flight home. It was the perfect ending to our French Polynesian trip.

5.00This excursion is one that we would highly recommend. Christian was a great guide and provided excellent historical and cultural background information related to the city of Papeete, Tahiti as an island, and other islands in French Polynesia. He was very knowledgeable about many subjects and was accommodating towards any requests we had. A great start to our French Polynesian vacation.

5.00Christian-A Great Guide! On time pick up at my hotel. Tourism has been his life long career, so he is very knowledgeable about the history and culture of Tahiti. He’s lived a long time in Papeete. It was so cool to be on tour with him and run across and meet some of his local friends, who were all friendly and very welcoming to me. He was always quick to introduce me. An added attraction for me to meet some locals! The guide was very accommodating and flexible to allow me to choose from things he recommended to see. We went off the beaten path to some places others don’t get to see. Like a stop atop a hill that overlooks all the city and port. He is extremely personable and I really enjoyed this tour by him. I highly recommend this tour and this tour guide! I had a very memorable experience!
